The 2026 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Spencer Fano NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Offensive Tackle
School: Utah
Size: 6-foot-6, 308 pounds
Class: Junior
2025 stats: First Team All-American
Fano was a four-star recruit in the class of 2023, who decided to stay in-state to play for the Utes. He started mostly at left tackle, with one start at right tackle for Utah in 2023 as a freshman. Fano moved over to right tackle for the 2024 season and was named First Team All-Big 12. For the 2025 season, Fano was named a First Team All-American for his play and helped Utah win 11 games on the year.
Following the season, Fano declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a first-round pick.
Fano is a great athlete for an offensive tackle prospect. He shows good quickness out of his stance, giving him an edge to start the play. Fano has good flexibility and agility, helping him bend and change direction well. He excels in space well, as his quick feet help him cover a lot of ground. Fano will match up well athletically at the next level.
His movement abilities help him in his run blocking. He doesn’t move people as much as other prospects, but he does execute his assignments well and can free up some decent holes. Getting to the second level is something he excels at, as he can block those targets on the move fairly well. Fano received plenty of run-blocking reps during his time at Utah and that shows up on tape.
He has plenty of experience, which helps him notice how defenses will attack him. Fano sees where pressure is coming from and routinely picks up the right block. He can pass blocks off when necessary too. When defenses use stunts and twists, Fano stays patient and is able to pick up the defender well.
Fano has a lighter frame for an NFL offensive tackle. He stands at 6-foot-6 and 308 pounds. His height and length will be fine for the next level, but he has to add more mass. Doing so will help him move defenders in the run game and also anchor better as a pass blocker. Fano needs to add to his play strength, while not negatively impacting his great athleticism.
There are times when Fano oversets in pass protection. He can open up too much to the outside and allow inside moves too easily. Fano needs to trust his technique more to help prevent this. He can also stay patient and not lunge, which also happens at times.
His pad level can get too high, specifically when he is run blocking. He loses some of his power by standing too upright. His run blocking can improve even more if he adds strength, but also if he maintains his leverage to drive defenders backwards.
Projected Draft Range: First Round Pick
Draft Grade: First Round Pick
