The 2022 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Skyy Moore 2022 NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Wide Receiver
Size: 5-foot-10, 195 pounds
Class: Junior
2021 stats: 95 receptions, 1,292 receiving yards, 13.6 yards per catch, 10 touchdown catches
Moore had three great seasons for Western Michigan and became a solid draft prospect. He is now preparing for the 2022 NFL Draft.
As a three-star recruit out of Pittsburgh, Moore signed with Western Michigan out of high school. He made the All-MAC First Team as a freshman with 51 receptions for 802 yards and three touchdowns. His play helped Western Michigan go 7-6. In a shortened 2020 season, Moore caught 25 passes for 388 yards and three touchdowns. The Broncos went 4-0 in 2020. He returned in 2021, producing with 95 catches for 1,292 yards and 10 touchdowns. With his help, Western Michigan went 8-5 and won the Quick Lane Bowl.
Following the Quick Lane Bowl, Moore declared for the draft. He is currently projected to be a second to fourth-round pick.
Moore is a good athlete for the wide receiver position. He has good quickness and speed overall. His top speed was proven to be great at the NFL Combine when he ran a 4.41 40-yard dash. He also has shown to have good agility and can create a mismatch with his athleticism.
He has good hands as well. Moore rarely has focus drops and can haul in the easy ones. He has also shown that he can make contested catches over the middle. Moore can haul in acrobatic catches and shows great focus on those as well.
After the catch, Moore is solid as well. He has good ball skills and once the ball is in his hands he uses good vision to run to open space. When defenders are close, he can make them miss and create extra yardage after the catch.
Moore isn’t the biggest receiver. He stands at 5-foot-10 and 195 pounds. While he is shorter, he does have decent arm length at 31 inches. He won’t have the biggest catch radius and can add more weight to his frame to play more physically.
While he is a decent route-runner, there are ways that he can improve. He can improve his releases at the line of scrimmage to create early separation. On top of that, he needs to commit to getting in and out of his breaks. There are times when he rounds off his routes, which doesn’t allow him to get any separation.
He doesn’t offer much as a run blocker. Moore needs to show more effort to start his progression in this area. Once he puts in more effort, he can improve his technique to make sure he can sustain blocks for long periods of time.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Fourth Round Pick
