As a four-star recruit in the class of 2021, Turner stayed in-state to play for Texas A&M. He played sparingly in 2021, registering 14 total tackles, two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. In 2022, his production increased, as he had 32 total tackles, five tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. His play aided the Aggies in winning five games. For the 2023 season, Turner tallied 33 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. He helped Texas A&M win seven games for that season. This past season, Turner racked up 36 total tackles, six tackles for loss and two sacks. Turner led the Aggies to an eight-win season.
Following the season, Turner has been preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day-two pick.
Turner is an athletic interior defensive lineman. He gets a quick first step on a play with a good jump at the snap of the ball. His solid acceleration turns into good speed, which is hard for interior offensive linemen to match. He has solid flexibility as well, which helps him bend and change directions well.
His pass-rushing from the interior is also dynamic, with his production in 2023 being great. He can attack gaps in order to get by blockers and help collapse the pocket. Turner can win with his athleticism, but also has a good amount of pass rush moves and counters at his disposal.
He has unique versatility to play multiple spots along the defensive line. Turner is athletic enough to be disruptive from the interior. In college, he also showed that he can move up and down the line as needed. He can play all three downs which increases his versatility as well.
Turner is a bit undersized for an interior defensive lineman. He stands at 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, which will make him mismatched for bigger interior offensive linemen. He could be seen as more of a tweener because of his lack of size. While he has good length, he needs to use it better.
He doesn’t have much power to begin with because of his size, but all power goes out the window when his pad level gets too high and he loses leverage. Turner often gets his pad level elevated. He needs to keep it lower in order to retain his power and be as difficult as possible to block.
While he offers good pass-rushing value, Turner isn’t the greatest run defender. He can struggle to anchor and take on double teams, which makes it harder for his teammates to go make plays. His own struggles to shed makes it tough for him to make tackles on ball carriers, even though he has a solid motor and is willing in pursuit.
