The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Savion Williams NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Wide Receiver
School: TCU
Size: 6-foot-5, 225 pounds
Class: Senior
2024 stats: 60 receptions, 611 receiving yards, 6 touchdown catches, 10.2 yards per catch, 51 rushes, 322 rushing yards, 6 rushing touchdowns
Williams was a four-star recruit in the class of 2020, who decided to stay in-state to play for the Horned Frogs. He didn’t produce much in his first two seasons, as he tallied just 78 receiving yards. In 2022, his role expanded and he registered 29 catches for 392 yards and four touchdowns. His play helped TCU reach the National Championship Game that season. Williams improved in 2023, as he caught 41 passes for 573 yards and four touchdowns. TCU dipped in their win total, as they won just five games. Williams returned for the 2024 season, as he hauled in 60 passes for 611 yards and six touchdowns. He led the Horned Frogs to a nine-win season.
Following the season, Williams declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day-two pick.
Williams has unique size for an NFL wide receiver. He stands at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, making him one of the biggest receivers in the class. With his size comes good play strength. With his size and strength he is a matchup problem for defensive backs, as he has a huge catch radius that they struggle to match.
He will be most notable for his versatility as a receiver. Williams can play outside receiver or line up in the slot and have success. On top of that, he ran the ball a ton during his college career, specifically this season. He can be a nice gadget player in addition to his receiving duties, as he had 322 rushing yards last season.
His versatility is a product of his ability to run after the catch. He has solid speed, especially for his size. That means that once the ball is in his hands, Williams is tough to tackle because he builds a lot of momentum. He has good vision in the open field and his long strides help him find open space.
Williams wasn’t the crispest route runner at the collegiate level. He needs to work on his releases at the line of scrimmage to help start a rep. When he needs to make a break in his route, he can struggle to do so quickly, as he is tall. Defenders are able to mirror him more easily than other receivers because of his limitations in changing directions while route running.
He has had some issues with drops during his career. Williams needs to focus throughout the reps to make sure he catches the routine passes. He has the ability to make contested catches and acrobatic ones that are off-frame, which shows his potential. If he can work on catching the easy ones, he will be more reliable.
For a player of his size, you would expect his run blocking to be better. He needs to show more effort and technique in his run blocking to improve. Williams has the size and strength, but showing desire and keeping his hands inside will help him sustain blocks longer. If he can do that, he can be an asset in the run game.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Fourth Round Pick
Draft Grade: Third Round Pick
