Princely Umanmielen NFL Draft Profile

Publish Date: April 18, 2025

The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Princely Umanmielen NFL Draft Profile.

Princely Umanmielen Background

Position: Edge

School: Florida

Size: 6-foot-4, 244 pounds

Class: Senior

2024 stats: 37 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 1o.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery

Umanmielen was a four-star recruit in the class of 2020 who signed with Florida out of Texas. He played a little in his first two seasons with the Gators, registering 3.5 sacks in through that point. In 2022, he registered 39 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He helped Florida win six games. For the 2023 season, Umanmielen had 39 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss and seven sacks. Florida won five games that season and Umanmielen transferred to Ole Miss following the season. With Ole Miss in 2024, Umanmielen totaled 37 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. He led the Rebels to a 10-win season.

Following the season, Umanmielen has been preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is a projected day two pick.

Princely Umanmielen Strengths

Umanmielen has a good frame for an edge rusher. He stands at 6-foot-4 and 244 pounds, which is a good starting point. Umanmielen will can continue filling out his frame. With his frame comes good length, as he has 33 and 7/8th inch arms. With his frame and length, added play strength will help make him a more complete player.

He has good athleticism that he demonstrates in a few different ways. Umanmielen gets a good jump at the snap of the ball, which shows off his timing and his quickness. He can convert that acceleration into speed, which makes it hard for offensive linemen to keep up. He has good flexibility and is able to bend around the edge well too.

There are plenty of times on tape when Umanmielen can win because of his motor. If his initial rush is stopped, Umanmielen keeps moving towards the quarterback. His motor will eventually get him to the quarterback. While his run defense isn’t as good as his pass rushing, his motor also extends to his run defense.

Princely Umanmielen Weaknesses

His pass rushing is well ahead of his run defense at this point. He doesn’t set the edge very well. Umanmielen can struggle to anchor and shed. He will need to fill out his frame and add strength to help him against the run. Currently he should be an edge rusher that comes in on passing downs until he can provide more of an impact against the run.

He had great sack production in 2024 at Ole Miss, but could add more pass rush moves and counters to his game. Umanmielen can also have a better pass rush plan. He mostly wins now with his athleticism with a few good moves, but a wider arsenal will help him be more successful.

His pad level gets too high, which has him lose his strength. With limited strength for the position, he needs to stay low and harness it. Keeping his pad level low will help him retain some of his power and help him get the better of offensive linemen, who don’t have his flexibility.

Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick

Draft Grade: Third Round Pick
