The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Omarr Norman-Lott NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Defensive Line
School: Tennessee
Size: 6-foot-2, 291 pounds
Class: Senior
2024 stats: 18 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 4 sacks
Norman-Lott was a three-star recruit in the class of 2020, who signed with Arizona State out of California. He didn’t play much in his first season, but then registered 30 total tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks in his second season with the Sun Devils. In 2022, he played in nine games, totaling 14 tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks. For the 2023 season, Norman-Lott decided to transfer to Tennessee. He had 26 total tackles, six tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks in 2023. He helped the team win nine games that season. In 2024, Norman-Lott racked up 18 total tackles, four tackles for loss and four sacks. He led the team to a 10-win season, including an appearance in the CFP.
Following the season, Norman-Lott has been preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a mid-round pick.
Norman-Lott is a good athlete for the interior defensive line position. He has good quickness at the snap and times it up well, giving him an edge to start the play. He has solid flexibility for an interior lineman and also moves well laterally, showing off his good agility. Norman-Lott has good speed, which makes it hard for offensive linemen to keep up. He uses his athleticism to attack gaps.
He is best as a pass rusher and was used primarily in passing situations at Tennessee. Norman-Lott mostly wins with his athleticism, as he can get around pass blockers. On twists and stunts, Norman-Lott is able to get free and get to the quarterback before offensive linemen can react. He has some decent pass rush moves, but doesn’t have the deepest arsenal to draw from.
His motor is great and teams will need to find out if it is a product of him not playing every down or not. When he is on the field, Norman-Lott shows good effort. He can get to the quarterback on secondary efforts. Against the run, he shows good pursuit and is willing to help, even if the production isn’t great.
For an interior defensive lineman, Norman-Lott is undersized. He stands at 6-foot-2 and 291 pounds. While he does have good length, it doesn’t help him from being overpowered by offensive linemen who are usually much stronger. He struggles to anchor and take on double teams, which will limit him.
He wasn’t as effective as a run defender in college. Norman-Lott struggles to shed blocks due to his lack of strength. Norman-Lott can’t help out like other defensive tackles due to his lack of ability to anchor and take on double teams. He needs to develop this area of his game to be trusted on every down. Right now, his biggest chance to make an impact is attacking gaps.
While he is an effecitve pass rusher for a player on the inside with some effective moves, Norman-Lott can add more pass rush moves to his game. With a better pass rush plan, and moves to go with it, his pass rush will be more effective. Norman-Lott can also add more counters to help him when his initial rush is stopped.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Draft Grade: Third Round Pick
