NFL Draft Prospects to Watch in Conference Championship Week Recap

Publish Date: December 4, 2022

While the 2023 NFL Draft is still far off in the distance, players that will be drafted early are on the field now. Each week presents unique matchups for draft prospects and this week is no different. Here are NFL Draft prospects to watch in conference championship week recap.

1. Andrew Voorhees, OG/C, USC Trojans

*Voorhees missed the Pac-12 Championship Game with an injury. USC lost Utah.

2. Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah Utes

Utah was able to outscore USC to win the Pac-12 Championship. The offense had a great showing, as they were able to move the ball through the air and on the ground. Kincaid helped, albeit in an effort that wasn’t his best. He finished the game with four receptions for 40 yards.

While it wasn’t his best showing, Kincaid has routinely shown he can be productive. He has solid speed for a tight end, which presents a mismatch problem. As things currently sit, Kincaid is a projected mid-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

3. Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia had a big day in the SEC Championship to lock up their spot in the College Football Playoff. Their offense had a great outing, as they put up 50 points. Washington had one catch which went for 14 yards and a touchdown.

Washington made his one catch count in the game. He isn’t utilized to his fullest potential in the Georgia offense, but projects to be a much better pro than a college player. He is currently projected to be a day two pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

4. Deuce Vaughn, RB, Kansas State Wildcats

Kansas State pulled off the upset to win the Big 12 Championship. They needed clutch plays on both sides of the ball and got them in this game. Vaughn proved to be one of the best players on the field with 26 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown. He also had two catches for 30 yards.

While he is very small, Vaughn has the ability to make people miss in the open field. He is a factor as a runner and a pass-catcher. His size will limit his draft stock, but he is projected to be a mid-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

5. Bryan Bresee, DL, Clemson Tigers

Clemson didn’t quite live up to expectations this year, but they won the ACC Championship again, this time over North Carolina. The Tigers had a great effort from their defense including their defensive line. Bryan Bresee had one tackle and two quarterback hurries in the game.

Playing on the interior of the defensive line doesn’t always give players a chance to showcase their skills. Their impact can’ always be seen in the boxscore. Bresee is one of the best defensive linemen in this class because he has good athleticism and takes a lot of attention from opposing offensive lines. He is currently projected to be a top-15 pick.
