While the 2025 NFL Draft is still far off in the distance, players that will be drafted early are on the field now. Each week presents unique matchups for draft prospects and this week is no different. Here are NFL Draft prospects to watch in college football week 7 Recap.

Ohio State lost a close game to Oregon on the road. Their defense did not play up to the hype they had before the season. A lot of that responsibility falls on the defensive line, including edge rusher Jack Sawyer. He struggled to get pressure, finishing with two total tackles.
Sawyer has been a solid run defender and pass rusher in his career, but his inability to get pressure on Dillon Gabriel was apparent in this game. Because he hasn’t been a great producer of sacks in his college career, Sawyer’s draft stock might slip.
Oregon notched a big win over Ohio State. It was impressive that Oregon was able to move the ball so successfully on Ohio State’s defense. That is a credit to the offensive line. Ajani Cornelius played well and helped to allow zero sacks.
Cornelius has really helped his stock already this season. He has been a proficient pass blocker this season and that showed up against a talented defensive line. At right tackle, he is getting experience protecting the blindside of Gabriel. That will help him for the future. He could be selected on day one or two of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Penn State was able to come back and defeat USC on the road in an impressive fashion. Their defense struggled in the first half, but tightened up in the second half to make things easier. Abdul Carter had a solid game, finishing with five tackles, one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Carter has done well since moving from linebacker to edge rusher this season. He started off a little slowly, but now has 10 tackles for loss and four sacks. While he’s a little undersized for an edge rusher, he has unique athletic ability. That, and his production, could have him end up as a top 10 pick.
Texas won big over Oklahoma this week. The offense started slow, but picked up the pace. They were able to do so despite star receiver Isaiah Bond leaving the game with an injury. He finished with one catch for five yards before leaving the game.
The injury isn’t though to be serious, which is good for Bond. He wasn’t able to show his speed and playmaking ability too much in this game, but he has been good this season. That speed could help him be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Colorado had a tough game against Kansas State and lost a close one. The offense played solidly, even with Travis Hunter leaving the game with a shoulder injury. Shedeur Sanders had an efficient game and almost helped the Buffaloes get the win. He completed 34 of 40 passes for three touchdowns and one interception.
Sanders showed his accuracy well in this game. He also usually has great decision-making as well. While Colorado might have a tough road ahead without Hunter, Sanders can keep them in games. With other quarterbacks across the country struggling, Sanders could be the first quarterback selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
