While the 2026 NFL Draft is still far off in the distance, players that will be drafted early are on the field now. Each week presents unique matchups for draft prospects and this week is no different. Here are NFL Draft prospects to watch in college football week 5.
Penn State is undefeated this season, but they have not been tested yet. Quarterback Drew Allar has played decently, but not up to his potential this season. He has passed for 626 yards, four touchdowns and one interception on the season. Allar has also rushed for 27 yards.
This week, Allar and the Nittany Lions are matching up with the Oregon Ducks, so he will have to be at his best. He has great size and arm talent. Allar has had some trouble playing against great competition, so this presents a unique opportunity for his draft stock. He will also get a chance to show he can handle pressure better against Oregon’s pass rush. Allar is currently projected to be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Oregon is also undefeated, but haven’t played great teams this season. The defense has been shaky, but there has been some bright spots. Matayo Uiagalelei has been impressive this season, as he has registered seven tackles, three tackles for loss and three sacks.
Uiagalelei will have to have an impact as the Ducks go up against the Nittany Lions this weekend. He has a good frame and sets the edge well. Uiagalelei has good burst at the snap, athleticism and a nice spin move. Uiagalelei can improve his pass-rush moves and also show better awareness on the field. He is currently projected to be a first-round pick.
Ole Miss is undefeated on the season, with two SEC wins and a win over Tulane. Their offense has flashed potential, but their defense has struggled to play consistently. Suntarine Perkins has played decently, with 15 total tackles and one tackle for loss. He also has a pass defended.
In week 5, Ole Miss plays LSU, a team with plenty of offensive firepower. Perkins is a versatile player who can play on or off-ball. He has good eyes in zone coverage and can get after the quarterback, even though he hasn’t had a sack yet this season. Perkins is a smaller linebacker who can struggle to shed. He is currently projected to be a second-round pick.
LSU hasn’t lost a game this season, with their defense really showing some proficiency. They have found a way to use Harold Perkins well, who has moved positions a few times over his LSU career. This season, Perkins has tallied 16 tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack.
Ole Miss has played good offense to start the season, so LSU’s defense and Perkins will need to step up. He is a good athlete who shows good pursuit and pass rushing ability. Perkins is a bit undersized for a linebacker and still needs to prove he has a stabilized position for the next level. He is currently projected to be a day two pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Alabama took a tough loss to Florida State in week 1, but have looked much better since. While their offense has been shaky at times, their offensive line has some talent. Kaydn Proctor has been up and down this season, but will have a chance to show what he can do this week.
The Crimson Tide are going up against Georgia this week, which will be a tough matchup. Proctor is a huge tackle prospect who has good play strength. He has heavy hands and moves defenders to clear big holes in the run game. His mobility is limited in comparison to other tackle prospects, so a move inside could be in the future plans for Proctor. He is currently projected to be a first or second round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
