1. Jonah Monheim, IOL, USC Trojans
USC had a tough time getting things going offensively against Michigan and ended up losing. Their playcalling wasn’t great, but the execution wasn’t great either. That includes the offensive line. Center Jonah Monheim had a rough game, allowing four pressures.
The matchup was tough for Monheim, as he was going up against Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant. He is still learning the position, but this game won’t help his draft stock. Monheim can improve his strength and pass protection from the interior moving forward.
2. Mason Graham, DL, Michigan Wolverines
Michigan’s defense made thing tough for USC’s offense. With their offense struggling, the defense had to step up to get the win. Their defense as a whole played well, but their defensive line specifically created problems. Graham finished the game with six total tackles, one sack and one tackle for loss.
Graham was already going to be selected early in the 2025 NFL Draft, but having a good game against another good draft prospects helps him even further. He wreaked havoc on the interior and changed what USC could do offensively. His strength and movement skills are unique for the interior.
3. Lander Barton, LB, Utah Utes
Utah was without their starting quarterback, but the Utes got a win on the road over Oklahoma State. Their offense didn’t move the ball consistently, so their defense had to step up. Lander Barton helped the cause, finishing with five total tackles.
Utah stopped the ground game of Oklahoma State, which helped them win the game. Barton did a good job helping with that, showing his ability to tackle and shed blocks. He can continue to find the football quicker, but he has been impressive already this season.
4. Ollie Gordon, RB, Oklahoma State Cowboys
Oklahoma State couldn’t get anything going offensively against Utah and lost the game. While the passing attack wasn’t good, the running game was supposed to be good this season for Oklahoma State. The running game and star running back Ollie Gordon had a bad game. Gordon had 42 rushing yards.
Gordon hasn’t had the best blocking ahead of him, but his lack of elusiveness has made things tough. He still has good power and contact balance, but his stock has taken a huge hit early this season. Gordon has to get things back on track soon if he still wants to be selected within the first couple of rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.
5. Danny Stutsman, LB, Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma went down to Tennessee early and couldn’t come back. Their defense held Tennessee to 25 points, so it turned into an impressive performance. Linebacker Danny Stutsman played well overall. He finished the game with three tackles.
Although he missed a tackle, Stutsman has proven to be a good tackler. He stops the run well and can rush the passer, which is something else he showed in this game. His coverage leaves some to be desired, but his run defense will entice NFL scouts.
