NFL Draft Prospects to Watch in College Football Week 13

Publish Date: November 22, 2020

While the 2021 NFL Draft is still far off in the distance, players that will be drafted early are on the field now. Each week presents unique matchups for draft prospects and this week is no different. Here are NFL Draft prospects to watch in college football week 13.

1. Javonte Williams, RB, North Carolina Tar Heels

This week, North Carolina play Notre Dame. For them to have a chance to win, they will need to move the chains. Running back Javonte Williams is a huge part of the offense and will have to have a big game. He is proficient at running the ball and catching the ball with over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and 18 total touchdowns on the season.

As things currently sit, Williams is a projected mid-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He has had a good season and with a good performance against a quality Notre Dame team can help his stock. If he plays well enough, the Tar Heels may be able to pull off the upset.

2. Michael Carter, RB, North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels have two really good running backs on their roster. They are the best running back duo in college football. If they both play well against the Fighting Irish, it will make things easier for quarterback Sam Howell. Carter has over 1,000 yards from scrimmage as well and six total touchdowns.

Having two different running backs who can do a little bit of everything makes it hard for defenses to figure out North Carolina’s offense. Carter is averaging a whopping 7.0 yards per carry this season. He is a projected mid-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

3. Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame’s offense has played well in recent weeks. The Fighting Irish will want to continue that, as they could get into a shootout with the Tar Heels. A big reason why their offense has been so successful is the offensive line. Liam Eichenberg has been a good starter for Notre Dame for a long time now at tackle.

Eichenberg is currently projected to be a mid-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was invited to the Senior Bowl to further

4. Christian Barmore, DL, Alabama Crimson Tide

The Iron Bowl isn’t happening in the last week of the season this year. Alabama is heavily favored to beat Auburn and a lot of that starts up front. While it doesn’t always show up in the stat line, Christian Barmore has had a fantastic season. He has 2.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks on the season.

Alabama will likely win anyways, but if they shut down the run, they will be able to dominate the Tigers. Barmore excels at taking up blockers and can really help with stuffing the run. Barmore is projected to be picked within the first two days of the 2021 NFL Draft.

5. Charlie Kolar, TE, Iowa State Cyclones

After starting the season off slow, Iowa State is now 6-2 on the season They are preparing to play Texas and will be looking for mismatches to exploit. One of the players capable of creating mismatches is tight end Charlie Kolar. Kolar has had a solid season with 25 receptions for 286 yards and four touchdowns.

While he isn’t one of the top-tier tight ends in this draft class, Kolar is projected to be a mid-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was injured earlier this season, so he will want to show what he can do in a marquee game against the Longhorns.
