While the 2023 NFL Draft is still far off in the distance, players that will be drafted early are on the field now. Each week presents unique matchups for draft prospects and this week is no different. Here are NFL Draft prospects to watch in college football week 12.
Oklahoma has had a rough season, but they are still in contention for a bowl game. They have played well offensively at times and will need their offensive line to play well down the stretch. One of their offensive linemen, Anton Harrison, has stood out for his play this season.
In week 12, the Sooners play the Oklahoma State Cowboys, who have some solid pass rushers. Harrison started at left tackle for the last two seasons for the Sooners. He has protected the blindside well and his draft stock has risen. Currently he is a projected first or second round pick.
USC is still alive in the CFP race thanks to a good offensive season. One of their best players is wide receiver Jordan Addison. So far this season, Addison has registered 40 receptions for 587 yards and seven touchdowns in eight games played.
The Trojans will need their offense to be productive this week as they play their rivals UCLA. Addison runs smooth routes and has a knack for creating separation. He has dealt with injuries and has been underutilized this season. If he plays, he’ll need to produce. He currently is projected to be a first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Boston College has had a rough season, which has included starting quarterback Phil Jurkovec going down with an injury. They have needed wide receivers to step up and help their young quarterbacks and Flowers has done that. On the year, he has 67 receptions for 921 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Eagles will be playing Notre Dame in week 11. Flowers has really good speed and can stretch defenses vertically. He also can burn defenses once he has the ball in his hands. If he can generate big plays, Boston College can win. Flowers is currently projected to be a day two pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Penn State has had a solid season with their only losses coming to Ohio State and Michigan. They need to win in the last few weeks of the season in order to make a New Years’s Six Bowl Game. One of the players who has stood out on their roster this season is Fashanu, who has been their best lineman at left tackle.
While Penn State plays Rutgers this week and should win decently easily, it is worth watching Fashanu before the season is over. His stock has risen more than most other prospects in this draft cycle. He has demonstrated his good athleticism and pass blocking ability this season. Fashanu has been banged up, but is currently a projected first round pick.
Clemson is still alive in the CFP race as well, as they only have one loss on the season to Notre Dame. Their defensive line has been one of the best in the country and they can generate a decent pass rush. Myles Murphy has had a productive season with 10 tackles for loss and five sacks.
The week 11 matchup for the Tigers is against the Miami Hurricanes. Clemson should be able to win, but Murphy will have a chance to go up against Zion Nelson, who is another draft prospect. Murphy is a good athlete who can make an impact on this game. He is a projected top 15 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
