While the 2021 NFL Draft is still far off in the distance, players that will be drafted early are on the field now. Each week presents unique matchups for draft prospects and this week is no different. Here are NFL Draft prospects to watch in college football week 0.
*Note- This article will usually have five prospects to watch, but there is only one week 0 game, so only one prospect will be featured.
Robert Rochell, CB, Central Arkansas
In the lone game of week 0, Central Arkansas will take on Austin Peay. These two schools don’t typically produce NFL prospects, but Robert Rochell will likely buck that trend.
Rochell had four interceptions in 2018 and five in 2019. He had 13 pass breakups in 2019 for the Bears. Statistically, Rochell has proven to be one of the best corners at the FCS level.
At 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, he is tall and lanky for an NFL corner. He’ll need to add weight, but teams who are looking for a zone corner will be scouting Rochell hard. Rochell is athletic on tape, but he is rumored to be one of the more athletic players in the draft class, especially taking into account his height. So if he plays well this season and has a good NFL Combine, Rochell could really shoot up draft boards. All eyes will be on him this weekend with no other games on the schedule.
