1. Domonique Orange, Iowa State Cyclones

Iowa State played in a rainy game in Dublin against Kansas State and were able to get the win. The defense did a great job of limiting Kansas State, giving up just a few big plays and 21 points. Dominique Orange had a great game, notching two tackles, but his true impact was more than just what the box score said.

Orange showed great power with the ability to shed blocks and take on double teams. He has violent hands and can create pressure. While he may not be playing on a lot of passing downs at the NFL level, his ability to do so in college shows he can develop in that area. He has the capability to be a day two pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

2. Austin Romaine, LB, Kansas State Wildcats

Kansas State took a tough loss in Dublin against Kansas State in a conference game. The defense made some key plays and gave the offense a chance to win the game, but it didn’t happen. Romaine impressed with eight total tackles, one pass defended and a fumble recovery.

It was a solid game for Romaine, who has proven to be a good run defender in a chase and tackle sense. He does take a lot of risks and can fill the wrong gap against the run, which needs to be cleaned up. Romaine could be better in coverage as well, but has plenty of time this season to improve in that area.

3. Bryce Foster, IOL, Kansas Jayhawks

Kansas had a great game against Fresno State, winning 31-7. Their offense was efficient and moved the ball well. The skill positions deserves some credit, but so too does the offensive line including Foster. He helped the team pass for 176 and rush for 207.

Foster did a great job in this game, clearing holes in the run game, but also protecting the quarterback. He didn’t allow a pressure in pass protection. As a big center, he could have the flexibility to play guard, which could help his stock. He is still slated to be a mid to late round pick, but a big season could change that.

4. JoJo Earle, WR, UNLV Rebels

UNLV struggled in their game against Idaho State, but they were able to notch a win. Their offense put up 38 points, but they didn’t get much help from Earle. He had two catches for -1 yards.

For a player who hasn’t produced a ton in his career, this game is alarming for Earle’s draft stock. He will need to produce more this year and fight his way for more work in the offense. Earle can impact the game on gadget plays, special teams and in other ways and will need to do so moving forward.

5. Jalen Walthall, WR, Incarnate Word Cardinals

Incarnate Word suffered an upset at the hand of Nicholls in week 0. Their offense was projected to be dynamic, but they scored just six points. They struggled to get star receiver Jalen Walthall the ball, which made it harder to move the ball. He finished the game with five catches for 40 yards.

Walthall didn’t have his most productive game, but still played well. He won’t have the luxury of playing too many games against NFL quality competition, but he produced well at the FCS level last season. Walthall will have to produce down the stretch to help him improve his draft stock. He currently is projected to be a late-round pick.
