The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2025 Texas Bowl.
AJ Haulcy, S
Haulcy started his college career at New Mexico, where he posted 87 total tackles, two interceptions and three passes defended as a freshman. He transferred to Houston for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. At Houston, he had 172 total tackles, five interceptions and 12 passes defended. For this season at LSU, he has 88 total tackles, three interceptions and four passes defended.
At 6-foot and 220 pounds, Haulcy has great size for a safety. He has nice ball skills in coverage, but also isn’t afraid to come down in the box and help against the run. The big hits are just a bonus. He has elevated his stock a lot this season at LSU and now gets to play against his former team.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Fourth Round Pick
Harold Perkins, LB
Perkins was a true freshman at LSU in 2022 and immedately made an impact with 72 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 13 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. He played well again as a sophomore with 75 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. In the 2024 season, he had 17 total tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss before tearing his ACL. This season, he has registered 56 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and four sacks.
He stands at 6-foot-1 and 222 pounds, which makes him undersized for an NFL linebacker. Perkins has great athleticism and pursues ball carriers well. He is versatile, playing many different positions in college, but it could be hard for an NFL team to figure out how to use him.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Other Draft Prospects: LB Whit Weeks (3rd-5th), WR Aaron Anderson (4th-6th), WR Barion Brown (5th-7th), WR Nic Anderson (5th-7th), EDGE Patrick Payton (6th-UFA), EDGE Jack Pryburn (6th-UFA), IOL Braelin Moore (6th-UFA), IOL Josh Thompson (6th-UFA), WR Zavion Thomas (UFA), OT Tyree Adams (UFA), WR Chris Hilton (UFA), TE Bauer Sharp (UFA)
Opt-outs/Injuries: CB Mansoor Delane (First), QB Garrett Nussmeier (2nd-4th)
Tanner Koziol, TE
Koziol spent the first three seasons of his college career at Ball State. With the Cardinals, he caught 163 passes for 1,507 yards and 18 touchdowns. He transferred to Wisconsin for the spring of 2025, but then moved on to Houston. With Houston in 2025, Koziol has caught 65 passes for 651 yards and five touchdowns.
At 6-foot-7 and 250 pounds, Koziol has solid size for an NFL tight end. He has great production at the college level, as tight ends aren’t always heavily utilized. His production this year against good competition should give some confidence that he can fit right in on an NFL roster.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Amare Thomas, WR
Thomas played two seasons at UAB to start his college career. With the Blazers, he caught 115 passes for 1,107 yards and 11 touchdowns. He transferred to Houston for the 2025 season. This season, he has 59 catches for 906 yards and 10 touchdowns to help the Cougars improve.
He stands at 6-foot and 205 pounds, which is solid for an NFL receiver. His ability to jump to a new level and increase his production is very encouraging. He is still just a junior and may return to school to build up his draft stock more.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Other Draft Prospects: QB Conner Weigman (6th-UFA), RB Dean Conners (6th-UFA), CB Latrell McCutchin (UFA), LB Corey Platt Jr. (UFA)
