NFL Draft Prospects in the 2025 New Mexico Bowl

Publish Date: December 18, 2025

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2025 New Mexico Bowl.

North Texas Mean Green Draft Prospects

Tay Yanta II, IOL

Yanta started his career at Abilene Christian. He played center for the Wildcats and started all 36 games he played at the FCS level. Yanta helped the school make an advance in the FCS playoffs. For the 2025 season, he transferred to North Texas. He was named to the All-American Conference Second Team for his play this season.

At 6-foot-4 and 335 pounds, Yanta has excellent size for an NFL interior offensive lineman. He played well in his one season at the FBS level, which bodes well for him. Yanta could be a late-round pick or an undrafted free agent.

Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Ethan Wesloski, LB

Wesloski joined North Texas in 2022 and redshirted that season. He started producing in 2023, as he had 63 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. In the 2024 season, he totaled 57 tackles, five tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. This season for the Mean Green, he has amassed 104 total tackles, nine tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

He stands at 6-foot-1 and 234 pounds, which makes him shorter than a lot of linebackers, but he has a filled-out frame. His progression this season was a good step. Wesloski is still just a redshirt junior and could return to school to boost his stock.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

San Diego State Aztecs Draft Prospects

Chris Johnson, CB

Johnson signed with San Diego State during the 2022 season. He played sparingly as a freshman, then started having a larger role in 2023. That season, he had one pass defended and one interception. In 2024, he upped his production with four passes defended and one interception. This season has been his best yet, as he has tallied nine passes defended and four interceptions.

At 6-foot and 195 pounds, Johnson has solid size for an NFL corner, although he can continue adding strength to his frame. He can play a variety of coverages and uses his eyes well. His fluid hips can help him mirror wide receivers as well. Johnson has boosted his stock this season and could be a day two pick.

Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Fourth Round Pick

Trey White, EDGE

White joined San Diego State in 2022 and redshirted. In 2023, he had 15 total tackles and two tackles for loss. His breakout season was in 2024, as White had 60 total tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. The 2025 season, wasn’t quite as productive, but was still solid, as he racked up 49 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks.

He stands at 6-foot-2 and 255 pounds, White has a filled-out frame, but may lack the height and arm length a lot of teams want in an edge rusher. His great sack production warrants him being drafted, but he has eligibility remaining and could end up returning to school to boost his stock.

Projected Draft Range: Fifth Round Pick-Seventh Round Pick

Other Draft Prospects: CB Bryce Phillips (UFA)
