The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 LA Bowl.
California Golden Bears Draft Prospects
Jaydn Ott, RB
Ott signed with Cal in 2022 and immediately started making an impact. He picked up Freshman All-America honors in his first season. As a sophomore, he was a First Team All-Pac-12 selection. He dealt with injuries during this season, but still rushed for 301 yards and four touchdowns.
He is listed at 6-foot and 210 pounds, which is solid size for an NFL running back. Ott has shown good receiving skills out of the backfield, which helps his stock. His contact balance could improve, but he has good speed. While his injuries could hurt his stock, he could still be a mid to late round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Fourth Round Pick-Sixth Round Pick
Nohl Williams, CB
Williams played the first three years of his college career at UNLV. He played well for the Rebels and continued his development with the Golden Bears. This season, he has tallied nine passes defended and seven interceptions.
At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Williams has decent size and length for the NFL. During his career and specifically this season, he has shown great ball skills. His experience and solid play has earned him the chance to likely be selected later in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Fourth Round Pick-Sixth Round Pick
Other Draft Prospects: S Craig Woodson (6th-UFA), LB Teddye Buchanan (6th-UFA), EDGE Xavier Carlton (6th-UFA), TE Corey Dyches (6th-UFA), WR Kyion Graves (UFA), WR Tobias Merriweather (UFA),
UNLV Rebels Draft Prospects
Ricky White III, WR
White started his college career at Michigan State. After one season, he transferred to UNLV. With the Rebels he blossomed into a star. He had 641 receiving yards in 2022 and followed that up with 1,483 receiving yards in 2023. This season, he hauled in 79 passes for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns.
At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, White has a solid frame, but could fill it out more. White has great speed and can be a deep threat at the next level. Coaches will love his play on special teams, as he has blocked several punts in his career.
Projected Draft Range: Fourth Round Pick-Sixth Round Pick
Jalen Catalon, S
Catalon played three seasons at Arkansas to kick off his college career. He then transferred to Texas for the 2023 season. In 2024, he reunited with his defensive coordinator from Arkansas, Barry Odom, at UNLV. He had 89 total tackles, five interceptions and three passes defended.
At 5-foot-10 and 205, Catalon has decent size for a safety. His stock was good at the start of his career, but then dipped in the middle. It recovered this past season at UNLV. He plays an aggressive and physical brand of football, but can have some lapses in coverage.
Projected Draft Range: Fifth Round Pick-Seventh Round Pick
Other Draft Prospects: CB Tony Grimes (6th-UFA), LB Jackson Woodard (6th-UFA)
