The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 Celebration Bowl.
South Carolina State Bulldogs Draft Prospects
Aaron Smith, LB
Smith has been an impact player for the Bulldogs over the last several years. The redshirt senior has 78 total tackles, one interception and one pass defended. He was named First Team All-MEAC this season for his performance.
He is listed at 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, but seems like he is a little lighter than that. He will have to add to his frame to be an every-down linebacker. Smith has shown good speed in the second level and could show good coverage skills with his athletic ability.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Ashaad Hall, EDGE
Hall has played for South Carolina State for a few years, but really broke out this season. He finished the regular season with 23 total tackles and 11 sacks. His play earned him a spot as a First Team All-MEAC member.
He stands 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, which means he’ll have to add weight to his frame to handle going up against NFL strength. Hall has the sack production and athleticism worth looking into. He is still a junior and will likely return to school for another season.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Jackson State Tigers Draft Prospects
Joshua Nobles, EDGE
Nobles started his college career at Western Michigan. He transferred to Jackson State for the 2024 season. After registering 3.5 sacks at Western Michigan over two seasons, he really broke out this season for Jackson State with 50 total tackles and nine sacks.
Jackson State lists Nobles at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, which means he is undersized for an NFL defensive line. He is another player who has production worth checking out for in this draft cycle or the next. Nobles is a junior who could opt to return to school.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Irv Mulligan, RB
Mulligan started his college career at Wofford, where he found early success. He transferred to Jackson State in 2023, registering 674 rushing yards and five touchdowns. This season, he has surpassed those numbers by rushing for 1,168 yards and 11 touchdowns.
While he isn’t the biggest running back, he is of decent size at 5-feet-10 and 205 pounds. He didn’t make a huge impact as a receiver this season, so he can add to his game in that area. Mulligan can create big plays and has solid contact balance.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
