The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Texas Bowl.
Muhammad joined Texas A&M in the class of 2020. He started contributing in 2021 and has done solidly since. In his career, he has 72 catches for 1,040 yards and 10 touchdowns. This season, he has caught 24 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns.
At 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Muhammad has solid size for an NFL wide receiver. His father played in the NFL and Muhammad has some similar athletic attributes. He still has more eligibility remaining and may return to school in an effort to build his stock up more.
Projected Draft Range: 4th Round Pick-6th Round Pick
Layden Robinson, IOL
Robinson signed with Texas A&M in 2019 and redshirted. He stepped into the starting lineup at right guard in 2020 and didn’t look back. In 2021, he made the All-SEC Second Team. He made the All-SEC Second Team in 2023 again.
He stands at 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds, which is solid for an NFL offensive lineman. While he still has eligibility remaining, he has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He has not said one way or another whether he will play in the bowl game or not.
Projected Draft Range: 4th Round Pick-6th Round Pick
*LB Edgerin Cooper has opted out of this bowl game. He is a projected second to fourth-round pick.
*DL McKinnley Jackson has opted out of this bowl game. He is a projected second to fourth-round pick.
*WR Ainias Smith has opted out of this bowl game. He is a projected third to fifth-round pick.
Other Draft Prospects: DL Shemar Turner (5th-7th), CB Tony Grimes (6th-UFA), S Demani Richardson (6th-UFA), IOL Bryce Foster (6th-UFA), OT Reuben Fatheree II (6th-UFA), CB Myles Jones (UFA), WR Shadrach Banks (UFA), WR Demond Demas (UFA), IOL Aki Ogunbiyi (UFA), IOL Chris Morris (UFA), EDGE Donnell Harris (UFA), IOL Luke Matthews (UFA)
Collin Oliver, EDGE
Oliver signed with Oklahoma State in the class of 2021. He immediately started creating an impact and has continued that productivity. In his career, he has 128 total tackles, 38.5 tackles for loss and 21.5 sacks. This season Oliver has racked up 71 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and six sacks.
He is an undersized edge rusher at 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds. That probably makes him a better fit for a 3-4 defense as an outside linebacker. His pass-rushing production warrants him being selected, but his size could limit his draft stock.
Projected Draft Range: 5th Round Pick-7th Round Pick
Anthony Goodlow, EDGE
Goodlow started his collegiate career in 2018 at Tulsa. He played there through the 2022 season before transferring to Oklahoma State for the 2023 season. In his career, he has 153 total tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss and 14 sacks. This season, he tallied 40 total tackles, six tackles for loss and two sacks.
At 6-foot-5 and 256 pounds, Goodlow has solid size for an NFL edge rusher. His production at Tulsa was great, but he didn’t find the same success at Oklahoma State. He still should get a chance to make an NFL roster.
Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Other Draft Prospects: WR Brennan Pressley (6th-UFA), S Kendal Daniels (UFA), De’Zhaun Stribling (UFA), LB Justin Wright (UFA)
