NFL Draft Prospects in the 2023 Frisco Bowl

Publish Date: December 7, 2023

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Frisco Bowl.

UTSA Roadrunners Draft Prospects

Joshua Cephus, WR

Cephus joined UTSA in 2019 and consistently improved over the course of his college career. In his career, he has 306 receptions for 3,553 yards and 27 touchdowns. The 2023 season was his best season yet, as he caught 82 passes for 1,049 yards and nine touchdowns.

At 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, Cephus has good height, but will need to add strength to his frame to hold up against physical coverage in the NFL. He has plenty of production and could be a mismatch to shorter corners. Currently, it looks like he could be selected late in the draft or be an undrafted free agent.

Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Rashad Wisdom, S

Wisdom has been with the Roadrunners since 2019 where he immediately started producing for the team. Every healthy season he made All-Freshman or All-Conference team in the C-USA and AAC. In his career, he has totaled 311 total tackles, five interceptions and 15 passes defended. This season, he has 58 total tackles and five passes defended.

He is a little short for a safety at 5-foot-9, but is well-built at 210 pounds. Wisdom has shown solid ball skills, but his size could hold him back from being selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. He will have to play well on special teams to make an NFL roster.

Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

*WR De’Corian Clark has missed the 2023 season with a knee injury. He is a projected late round pick or undrafted free agent if healthy.

Other Draft Prospects: QB Frank Harris (UFA)

Marshall Thundering Herd Draft Prospects

Rasheen Ali, RB

Ali started with the Thundering Herd in 2020, then had a great season in 2021. In 2022, he missed some time with injury, then rebounded in 2023. For his collegiate career, Ali has 2,739 rushing yards, 557 receiving yards and 41 touchdowns. This season, Ali has registered 1,043 rushing yards, 213 receiving yards and 15 total touchdowns.

He has solid size for an NFL running back at 6-foot and 209 pounds. Ali has some great production over his career that is worth noting by NFL teams. He also has experience playing special teams early in his Marshall career, which could help him make a roster.

Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Micah Abraham, CB

After joining Marshall in 2019, Abraham contributed right away. Over his career, Abraham has totaled 145 tackles, 11 interceptions on 40 passes defended. This season, Abraham has registered 31 total tackles, three interceptions on 13 passes defended.

At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, Abraham won’t be the biggest corner. He has shown good ball production in his career and especially this season. His instincts help him out in that regard, but it still might be hard for him to make an NFL roster.

Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
