The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Famous Toastery Bowl.
Malachi Corley, WR
Corley spent four seasons at Western Kentucky and was specifically really productive over the last two seasons with the Hilltoppers. In his career, Corley has 255 receptions for 3,009 yards and 29 touchdowns. This season, Corley totaled 75 receptions for 958 yards and 11 touchdowns.
At 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, Corley isn’t the biggest receiver. He does have the ability to play on the outside. Corley has shown the ability to separate and ability to run after the catch. It is a deep wide receiver class, but Corley has one well and could be a mid-round pick.
Projected Draft Range: 3rd Round Pick-5th Round Pick
Austin Reed, QB
Reed started his career at Division II level Western Florida where he won a National Championship. For the last two seasons, Reed has been at Western Kentucky. In his FBS career, he has 8,086 passing yards, 71 touchdowns and 22 interceptions on 63.2 percent completion. For 2023, Reed has passed for 3,340 yards, 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on 61.5 percent completion.
He stands at 6-foot-2, which is solid for an NFL quarterback. Reed has shown good accuracy, but may not have NFL-level arm-strength. He has plenty of production over his college career. Reed will likely get invited to a camp with a chance to make a team.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Other Draft Prospects: K Brayden Narveson (UFA)
Jason Henderson, LB
Henderson signed with Old Dominion in 2021 and immediately started producing for the team over the next three seasons. In his career, he has 434 total tackles, 33.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. This season, Henderson racked up 170 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
At 6-foot-1 and 227 pounds, Henderson is undersized for an NFL linebacker. He will likely need to add strength to be able to shed blocks at the next level. Henderson does have good range and a nose for the football. His coverage skills will need to develop more to have a role in the NFL.
Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Kadarius Calloway, RB
Calloway started his college career at the JUCO level with East Mississippi Community College. He transferred to Old Dominion for the start of the 2023 season. In his lone season at the FBS level, he 594 rushing yards, 48 receiving yards and five total touchdowns.
He is a well-built running back at 6-foot and 217 pounds. While his production lacks a lot of volume, Calloway did make the most of his touches, averaging 7.6 yards per rush. He still has eligibility remaining, so a return to school is the likely move.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
