NFL Draft Prospects in the 2023 Camellia Bowl

Publish Date: December 8, 2023

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Camellia Bowl.

Arkansas State Red Wolves Draft Prospects

Corey Rucker, WR

Rucker has a unique college experience. He started at Arkansas State, then transferred to South Carolina before returning to the Red Wolves. In his career, he has 107 catches for 1,929 yards and 15 touchdowns. This season, he has 31 catches for 598 yards.

At 6-foot and 203 pounds, Rucker has solid size for an NFL receiver. His stint at South Carolina was unproductive, which will likely hurt his stock. He still has done enough over his career to warrant consideration as an undrafted free agent.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Courtney Jackson, WR

Jackson spent four seasons at Syracuse before transferring to Arkansas State. He has spent just the 2023 season with the Red Wolves. In his career, he has 101 catches for 1,320 yards and 11 touchdowns. This season, he has 38 receptions for 658 yards and seven touchdowns.

He stands at 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, which isn’t the greatest for an NFL receiver. Jackson will need to add strength and could be resigned to playing in the slot. He is just a redshirt sophomore, so he may elect to return to school for another season.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Northern Illinois Huskies Draft Prospects

Antario Brown, RB

Brown has been with the Huskies for three seasons and has progressively improved every season. He has 2,391 rushing yards, 59 receiving yards and 23 total touchdowns in his career. This season, Brown has tallied 1,164 rushing yards, 52 receiving yards and 11 total touchdowns.

At 5-foot-10 and 214 pounds, Brown is well-built for a running back. His lack of receiving production holds back his value, as he may not be an every-down running back. He likely will return to school to improve their stock.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Raishein Thomas, EDGE

Thomas joined Northern Illinois in 2020. He has specifically been productive over the last two seasons. In his career, he has 180 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. This season, he has 68 total tackles, seven tackles for loss an 1.5 sacks.

He is 6-foot-4 and 262 pounds, Thomas has good size for an NFL edge rusher. His lack of sack production could hold him back, but he does play the run well. Thomas is just a junior an can return to school to improve his stock if he chooses to do so.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
