NFL Draft Prospects in the 2022 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

Publish Date: December 9, 2022

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2022 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Eastern Michigan Eagles Draft Prospects

Sidy Sow, OG/C

Sow has been one of the more tenured players in all of college football. He started at Eastern Michigan in 2017 when he redshirted. Sow then stepped into the starting lineup at left tackle for 11 games in 2018. He improved and was named Third Team All-MAC in 2020 and First Team All-MAC in 2021.

At 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds, Sow can fit in on an NFL offensive line, specifically on the interior. He has been solid at pass and run blocking at the MAC level and will hope that he can make the transition to the pro level.

Projected Draft Range: Fifth Round Pick-Seventh Round Pick

Jose Ramirez, EDGE

Ramirez started his time at Eastern Michigan in 2020 and has progressed ever since. He has 152 total tackles, 33 tackles for loss and 20.5 sacks in his career. For the 2022 season, 63 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.

He won’t have NFL measurables at 6-foot-2 and 251 pounds, but his production and development are worth looking at for pro scouts. Ramirez has been solid against the run and may just need to add a few more pounds to his frame to fit in at the next level. He is a projected late-round pick or undrafted free agent.

Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

San Jose State Spartans Draft Prospects

Viliami Fehoko, EDGE

Fehoko has been at San Jose State since 2018 and has improved ever since that point. He has 187 total tackles, 46.5 tackles for loss and 23 sacks in his career. In the 2022 season, Fehoko has 65 total tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks.

He has decent size for an NFL edge rusher at 6-foot-4 and 263 pounds. Fehoko has shown some good work on tape against the run and pass. He has NFL bloodlines, as his brother Breiden is a pro. Currently, Fehoko is a projected mid to late round pick.

Projected Draft Range: Fourth Round Pick-Sixth Round Pick

Elijah Cooks, WR

Cooks spent five seasons at Nevada before transferring to play at San Jose State this season. In his career, Cooks has 178 catches for 2,461 yards and 28 touchdowns. This season for the Spartans, Cooks has registered 63 catches for 983 yards and 10 touchdowns.

At 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, Cooks has the size for an NFL receiver and can create some mismatches. Cooks will have to show he can stay healthy, as he has had some injuries throughout his college career that limited him.

Projected Draft Range: Fifth Round Pick-Seventh Round Pick

Other Draft Prospects: EDGE Cade Hall (UFA)
