NFL Draft Prospects in the 2022 Alamo Bowl

Publish Date: December 21, 2022

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2022 Alamo Bowl.

Texas Longhorns Draft Prospects

Keondre Coburn, DL

Coburn has been a Longhorn for five years and has been a good player for them over the last four. He has 93 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in his career. For the 2022 season, he has 27 total tackles, four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

At 6-foot-2 and 348 pounds, Coburn has great size for an interior defensive lineman. He can play the nose tackle at the next level. While his lack of production is a little concerning, he has been disruptive and opened things up for other players on defense.

Projected Draft Range: Fourth Round Pick-Sixth Round Pick

D’Shawn Jamison, CB

Jamison is in his fifth season at Texas and has also been productive over the last four seasons. At Texas, he has 137 total tackles, six interceptions and 17 passes defended. This season, Jamison has recorded 22 total tackles, two interceptions and seven passes defended.

He is a little undersized for the NFL at 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds. Adding some weight will help him battle some of the bigger receivers in the NFL, but a move to the slot isn’t out of the question. Jamison has shown good ball skills over his career.

Projected Draft Range: Fifth Round Pick-Seventh Round Pick

*RB Bijan Robinson has opted out of this bowl game. He is a projected first-round pick.

*LB DeMarvion Overshown has opted out of this bowl game. He is a projected mid-round pick.

*RB Roschon Johnson has opted out of this bowl game. He is a projected late-round pick.

Other Draft Prospects: TE Jahleel Billingsley (6-UFA), OT Christian Jones (UFA), WR Jordan Whittington (UFA), DL Moro Ojomo (UFA), RB Keilan Robinson (UFA)

Washington Huskies Draft Prospects

Jaxson Kirkland, OG/C

Kirkland redshirted in 2017 to start off his time with the Huskies. He then moved into the starting lineup at right guard for the 2018 season. In 2020, he earned First Team All-PAC-12 honors. At left tackle in 2021, Kirkland was named First Team All-Pac-12 again. After starting the year at left tackle in 2022, he moved inside to left guard and still made First Team All-Pac-12.

He has great size for the NFL at 6-foot-7 and 340 pounds. Kirkland has versatility that has shown throughout his career. He likely will move inside to guard at the next level, as that is where he has most recently played and had success.

Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick

Jeremiah Martin, EDGE

Martin started his career at Texas A&M where he played for three seasons before transferring to Washington. In his career, he has 63 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. This season, he has registered 39 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

At 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, Martin has good size for an NFL edge rusher. There will be some interest in how long his arms measure at the NFL Combine. He had just one year of good production, but has some athleticism to note.

Projected Draft Range: Fifth Round Pick-Seventh Round Pick

Other Draft Prospects: OG/C Henry Bainivalu (6th-UFA), EDGE Zion Tupuola-Fetui (UFA), LB Edefuan Ulofoshio (UFA)
