NFL Draft Prospects in the 2021 TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2021 TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl.

Houston Cougars Draft Prospects

Logan Hall, Edge

Hall has taken a huge step forward this season to draw the eyes of NFL scouts. He has 19.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks over his career. For his best season yet, Hall has posted 13 tackles for loss and six sacks. His play helped Houston post an 11-2 record.

He has solid size for an edge rusher at 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds. With his measurables adding up and his jump in production, Hall has improved his draft stock drastically. Hall is currently projected to be a mid-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick

Marcus Jones, CB

Jones started his career off at Troy before transferring to Houston to finish his college career. He has 31 passes defended and nine interceptions in his career. This season, Jones has 13 passes defended and five interceptions. He also the ability to return kicks and punts, as well as playing receiver. Jones has seven touchdowns in his career on offense and special teams.

At 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, Jones is undersized for a corner. The good news is he will play in the slot, much like he does for Houston, in the NFL. Jone could be one of the best slot corners and returners in the class, making him valuable. He is currently projected to be a mid-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick

Auburn Tigers Draft Prospects

Roger McCreary, CB

McCreary has developed into one of the best shutdown corners in college football over the last few seasons. He has 30 passes defended and six interceptions in his career. This season, he has 14 passes defended and two interceptions on his way to being an All-American.

He is 6-foot and 190 pounds, which is good enough for an NFL corner. McCreary had some good games against some of the best receivers in the SEC, demonstrating his ability to stay attached in man coverage. His ability has him as a projected early pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Projected Draft Range: First Round Pick-Second Round Pick

Smoke Monday, S

Along with having a cool name, Monday has continually improved over his college career. He has 166 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, five interceptions and eight passes defended in his Auburn career. This season, Monday has registered 58 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, one interception and five passes defended.

Monday has a lot of length in his 6-foot-3 and 199-pound frame. His measurables will get him looked at by NFL teams, but so too will the impact he made on the field. He could be a candidate to cover NFL tight ends because of his size. Monday is projected to be a mid-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
