The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2020 AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
West Virginia Draft Prospects
Dante Stills, DL
While he has played a lot over the last three seasons, Stills really made an impact over the last two years. In his career, he has 27 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. His production dipped a little bit this season, as he finished the regular season with 7.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
At 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, he has good height and length, but likely needs to add some more play strength. His production dipping is concerning, but he has the tape over his career to back him up. He should be a mid-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Tony Fields II, LB
Fields played the first three years of his career at Arizona before playing the 2020 season at West Virginia. Over four years, he has 375 total tackles, 21 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. This year as a Mountaineer, he has racked up 88 total tackles, four tackles for loss and one sack.
He is a little undersized at 6-foot-1 and 226 pounds, but he does have more mobility, which is required of modern day linebackers. Fields is effective against the run, but really needs to show he can be a three-down linebacker. He is a projected late round pick or undrafted free agent in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Other Draft Prospects
*Defensive lineman Darius Stills opted out for the rest of the season. He is a projected mid-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Army Black Knights Draft Prospects
Sandon McCoy, FB
Sandon McCoy has been a bruising fullback for Army the last two seasons. He had 574 rushing yards last season with 10 touchdowns. This season, he once again led the team with 10 rushing touchdowns and also had 250 rushing yards.
At 5-foot-11 and 230 pounds, he is a little small for a fullback. He has a chance to make an NFL roster because not too many teams use a fullback at the collegiate level. McCoy would be an undrafted free agent.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
