The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Mason Graham NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Defensive Lineman
School: Michigan
Size: 6-foot-3, 296 pounds
Class: Junior
2024 stats: 45 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 1 pass defended
Graham was a four-star recruit in the class of 2022 who signed with Michigan out of California. He started in two games as a freshman, registering 27 total tackles, three tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. His play helped the Wolverines get the College Football Playoff that season. In 2023, he jumped into the starting lineup and had a big season with 36 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and three sacks. He led the team to a National Championship in 2023. For the 2024 season, he had 45 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. While he played better, Michigan took a step back with an 8-5 record.
Following the regular season, Graham declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a first-round pick.
Despite a lack of length, Graham is able to deconstruct and shed blocks well. He has heavy and active hands that can help him break free from blocks in both the run game and against the pass. His shedding ability is more apparent against the run, but he has shown that he can do it against the pass as well.
His athleticism and burst as an interior defensive lineman is unique. Graham has good first step quickness, which gives him a great jump on the play over offensive linemen. He has solid flexibility and can get skinny to shoot the gap between blockers. Graham moves well laterally and can evade blocks when he needs to.
He has a good motor that never seems to turn off. Graham shows great pursuit against the run, which is partially because of his athleticism, but also because he doesn’t give up on plays. As a pass rusher, he can collapse the pocket and make plays on a second or even third effort.
Graham is undersized for an interior defensive lineman at the NFL level. He stands at just over 6-foot-3 and 296 pounds, which will leave him below average for the position. He has solid strength for his size, but still can be outmatched in that regard by bigger offensive linemen. With his size, Graham also has just 32-inch arms, which can make it harder for him to shed, as his hands have to be on-point.
His pass rushing is improving, but still needs some work. He can make plays because of his athleticism and effort, but needs to continue adding moves and counters to his game. Right now, he is capable of pushing the pocket, but unless he improves, other players may have more success on the inside early in his career.
While he has solid strength, Graham can struggle to hold up against double teams. He could anchor better, hold his ground and allow others to make plays, but he isn’t always able to do that. If he can get stronger and improve his technique, he could be a more versatile defensive tackle by taking on multiple blockers.
