Position: Cornerback
School: Texas
Size: 6-foot, 182 pounds
Class: Junior
2025 stats: 30 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 2 interceptions, 4 passes defended
Muhammad was a four-star recruit in the class of 2023 who decided to stay in-state to play for Texas. He played a decent amount as a freshman, registering 31 total tackles, one interception and four passes defended. The next season, he stepped into the starting lineup, impressing with 36 total tackles and eight passes defended. He helped the Longhorns make the CFP semifinals that year. In 2025, he totaled 30 tackles, two interceptions, and four passes defended. He led the team to a 10-win season.
Following the season, Muhammad declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a mid-round pick.
Muhammad has great athleticism for an NFL corner. He tested well at the NFL Combine with a 4.42-second 40-yard dash and a 39-inch vertical jump. That athleticism shows up on tape. Muhammad has good quickness, speed and agility for the position. He is a fluid mover and has nice burst when he needs it.
He is able to mirror receivers well in man-to-man coverage. Muhammad can press and match releases and stay with receivers through routes. When receivers try to make breaks in their routes, Muhammad can stay right with them. He has some busts, but for the most part does a solid job in man coverage.
His eyes are a weapon in zone coverage. Muhammad uses his eyes well to read quarterbacks and what they will do. He has nice eye balance too, as he reads the quarterback, but also keeps tabs on players entering his zone. Muhammad shows good awareness in zone coverage.
Muhammad is a smaller corner that will need to add muscle to his frame. He measured in at 6-foot and 182 pounds at the NFL Combine. Added play strength will help him match up with bigger receivers better and possibly help him be better against the run. He has long arms and added muscle can help him fill out his frame.
In coverage, Muhammad is aggressive to make up for his lack of size, but sometimes it is too physical. Muhammad has the speed and agility to keep up with receivers, but he fights so hard and sometimes gets grabby, specifically against bigger receivers. He will need to trust his technique and keep his hands to himself to avoid penalties.
He is a below-average tackler at this point. Muhammad will need to add strength to help him, but he can also make sure he is executing good form tackles. He missed five tackles last season, which is a lot given his overall tackle totals.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Draft Grade: Third Round Pick
