The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Kenneth Grant NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Defensive Lineman
School: Michigan
Size: 6-foot-4, 331 pounds
Class: Junior
2024 stats: 32 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 5 passes defended, 2 fumble recoveries
Grant was a four-star recruit in the class of 2022 who signed with Michigan out of Indiana. He played sparingly in 2022, registering just eight total tackles. Grant’s role increased in 2023, as he tallied 29 total tackles, five tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. His play helped Michigan win the national championship. In 2024, Grant had 32 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks. He aided Michigan in winning eight games for the season.
Following the season, Grant declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a first-round pick.
Grant has great size for an interior defensive lineman. He stands at 6-foot-4 and 331 pounds, which makes him bigger than most interior offensive linemen he will face. His size gives him great play strength as well. He has good length too, measuring in with 33 and 1/2 inch arms. His measurables make him among the biggest in the class.
While his size stands out, his ability to move at his size is incredible. He has good movement abilities, as he can get up to a good speed for a player at his weight. This helps him attack gaps and blow up plays much more than a player at his size should be able to do. He has solid body control, which is an advantage at his size.
His play strength is incredible and helps him in a few ways. He is able to anchor and take on double teams well, allowing other players on defense to make plays. His ability to shed is also aided by his strength. With his play strength, Grant uses it to be a great run defender, which should translate to the NFL.
Grant is likely going to be a two-down player at the next level. He doesn’t have the best pass rush production and will need to add to his game to be left on the field for passing situations. Grant needs to have a better pass rush plan and can add to his moves and counters to be more effective as a pass rusher.
His leverage can be lost way too much. Grant can stand up straight up, which makes him lose a lot of his power. He can have trouble keeping his pad level down. Grant needs to have better discipline in keeping his pad level low and that will make him a more consistent player overall, whether it be against the run or pass.
While he moves well for his size, Grant doesn’t always have the greatest jump at the snap of the ball. He can mistime his jump or just be sluggish out of his stance. Grant was pretty disruptive, but could be even better if he had more burst at the start of plays. With his size and movement, the extra jump at the snap could really help him be more disruptive.
