The 2023 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Jordan Addison 2023 NFL Draft Profile.

Jordan Addison Background

Position: Wide Receiver

School: USC

Size: 6-foot, 175 Pounds

Class: Junior

2022 stats: 59 receptions, 875 receiving yards, 14.8 yards per catch, 8 touchdowns

Addison played at two different schools during his college career to show off his abilities. Now he is in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Out of high school, Addison was a four-star recruit who chose to play for Pittsburgh. In his freshman season, he caught 60 passes for 666 yards and four touchdowns. The Panthers won six games that season. He won the Biletnikoff Award as the country’s top receiver in 2021 with 100 catches for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns. His play helped the Panthers win 11 games and make the Peach Bowl. Following the season, Addison decided to transfer to USC where he had 59 receptions for 875 yards and eight touchdowns. With him at wide receiver, the Trojans won 11 games and made the Cotton Bowl.

After skipping out on the Cotton Bowl, Addison declared for the draft. Addison is a projected first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Jordan Addison Strengths

Addison’s greatest strength is his route-running. He can get in and out of his brakes quickly to create separation and give his quarterback a friendly target. Addison has solid releases at the line of scrimmage, which also help him get free of coverage. He shows an understanding of leverage and timing in his routes. His ability to run a lot of different routes is impressive as well and makes him more difficult to guard.

He is great with the ball in his hands, as he shows the ability to run after the catch well. Addison is elusive when he runs, showing good vision and the ability to make defenders miss. He has solid speed, which helps him turn routine catches into bigger plays. His ability to run after the catch was on display as a punt returner as well.

His body control helps him make highlight-reel catches. He has long arms and decent athleticism, which helps him to high-point the football. Quarterbacks just need to get it in his area and he can make incredible plays on the ball, as he has good ball skills.

Jordan Addison Weaknesses

His size will be under the microscope at the next level. He stands at 6-foot and 175 pounds, which is well below most players in the league. He currently can struggle with physical corners and press coverage, which added strength could help. NFL defenders will want to show their strength to overpower him from the start to the finish of the rep.

Addison could be moved to the slot and be successful there because of the lack of size. He can still be very successful in the slot, but typically players who play in the slot aren’t drafted highly. Addison can be successful on the outside, but has to find a way to beat physical corners.

While he has improved his ball skills over his career, he has shown plenty of drops on tape. At Pittsburgh, he had plenty of drops. He can improve his focus to catch more balls, but the added strength could also help him complete catches when he is contacted.
