The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Jonah Savaiinaea NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Interior Offensive Lineman
School: Arizona
Size: 6-foot-4, 324 pounds
Class: Junior
2024 stats: All-Big 12 Honorable Mention
Savaiinaea was a three-star recruit who signed with Arizona out of Hawaii in the class of 2022. He started immediately for the Wildcats in 2022 and was a Freshman All-American. He helped them to win five games that season. Savaiinaea returned in 2023 and was named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention for his play. The Wildcats improved to 10 wins in 2024. For the 2024 season, Savaiinaea was named All Big 12 Honorable Mention for his play. The team took a step back and won just four games in 2024.
Following the season, Savaiinaea declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day two pick.
Savaiinaea has good size for an NFL interior offensive lineman. He stands at 6-foot-4 and 324 pounds, which helps him generate a lot of power. He has good strength, but also has decent length with nearly 34-inch arms. With his strength and length, Savaiinaea can sustain blocks well and control defenders.
He is an advanced run blocker, as he uses his strength to move defenders out of the way and clear big holes. While he isn’t the greatest athlete, Savaiinaea can get to the second level and make blocks on linebackers. He can sustain his blocks for extended periods of time to allow running backs to find holes.
In pass protection, Savaiinaea anchors well. When pass rushers come his way, he doesn’t give up much ground. He can handle power rushers well and ones that convert speed to power. While he was a tackle in college, his power should be able to handle interior defenders at the next level.
Savaiinaea has good power, but he can lose some of his strength because his pad level gets too high. This makes him lose his leverage and players are able to disengage and get past him to make plays. He can fix this by staying low and maintaining that power, which will make him a more efficient player.
He isn’t the greatest mover, which is part of the reason he will likely move inside to guard. Savaiinaea can struggle in space and doesn’t have the lateral agility to move that well. He can get up to the second level, but it takes longer than other players. Savaiinaea also can struggle to mirror and stay in front of pass rushers.
His flexibility also is lacking and he can be a bit of a waist-bender. When he was at tackle, defenders were able to bend around the edge. That issue will still be there at guard, but will be lessened, as he will have decent flexibility for the position.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
