Jonah Coleman NFL Draft Profile

Publish Date: January 15, 2026

The 2026 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Jonah Coleman NFL Draft Profile.

Jonah Coleman Background

Position: Running Back

School: Washington

Size: 5-foot-9, 220 pounds

Class: Senior

2025 stats: 156 carries, 758 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, 4.9 yards per attempt, 31 catches, 354 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns

Coleman was a three-star recruit in the class of 2022 who signed with Arizona out of the state of California. He rushed for 372 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman, then took a big step forward as a sophomore with 871 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Following the season, he followed head coach Jedd Fisch to Washington. In 2024, he totaled 1,053 rushing yards, 177 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. He returned in 2025, posting 758 rushing yards, 354 receiving yards and 17 total touchdowns. His play helped Washington go 9-4 on the season.

Following the season, Coleman declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day two pick.

Jonah Coleman Strengths

Coleman is a good, powerful runner. He is short at 5-foot-9, but weights 220 pounds, making him very tough to tackle. Coleman runs low to the ground and demonstrates good contact balance. He can run through tackles, especially when defenders don’t wrap up. Coleman can be a good short-yardage back at the next level.

His vision is extremely impressive. Coleman shows patience to let his blocks get set up. He finds the hole and gets north and south quickly. This past season, Washington’s offensive line wasn’t impressive and Coleman demonstrated the ability to find holes when the play is blown up. He was able to cut back or bounce to the outside to find the best chance for yardage. Coleman’s vision extends to the openfield, as he can pick up extra yardage at the second level.

He has three-down ability in a few different ways. Coleman showed solid hands for a running back and provided a good security blanket for his offense. While he can add some routes, he has the basics down to provide a solid pass catcher. He also has shown good toughness in pass protection. Coleman can stand in against much bigger players.

Jonah Coleman Weaknesses

Coleman lacks long speed and likely won’t be a home run threat at the next level. He has all the tools to be a productive running back, but offenses looking for a big play may want to platoon Coleman with another running back. Coleman likely won’t be taking long runs to the end zone, but he can be an efficient running back.

His elusiveness is average at best. He has good power to run defenders over and can use his vision to use open lanes, but he doesn’t often make defenders miss with his moves. Coleman is best suited using his power to punish defenders trying to tackle him and fall forward.

His pass protection effort is good and he has the chance to develop, but he can improve his technique. He can keep his hands inside and square up pass rushers to hold up even better. With some work, he can turn into a great pass protection option at the NFL level.
