Burton spent time at both Georgia and Alabama during his college career. Now, he is in the 2024 NFL Draft.

As a four-star recruit in the class of 2020, Burton signed with Georgia out of California. He produced instantly for the Bulldogs with 27 catches for 404 yards and three touchdowns as a freshman. His play aided Georgia in winning eight games and making the Peach Bowl. In 2021, Burton totaled 26 receptions for 497 yards and five touchdowns. He helped Georgia win the National Championship that season. After the season, he transferred to Alabama. During the 2022 season, he hauled in 40 passes for 677 yards and seven touchdowns. In his first season with the Crimson Tide, the team won 11 games including the Sugar Bowl. For the 2023 season, he caught 39 passes for 798 yards and eight touchdowns. He was a key target for a team that made the College Football Playoff.

Following the 2023 season, Burton declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is currently a projected second to fourth-round pick.

Jermaine Burton Strengths

Burton is a solid route runner who can create separation. He gets in and out of his breaks quickly and makes it hard for defensive backs to mirror his movements. His agility and acceleration are tools to help him run routes well. He can change speeds really well during his routes.

He is a good athlete in a few different ways. Burton has good acceleration to start a play and that turns into good top-end speed. He has good agility and jumping ability as well. These athletic traits help him create separation as a route-runner, but also help him run after the catch well.

His versatility will be something teams like. He can play on the outside or be moved to the slot. This will make him an option to a wide variety of teams in the middle rounds, as he can fill in wherever a team needs him.

Jermaine Burton Weaknesses

Burton can be a much better run blocker to help his team. He needs to show more effort in this regard to help his team pick up yardage. Burton can show better leverage and hand placement to help his blocking improve as well.

While he is a good route runner, he has a tendency to round off his routes. He can get in and out of his breaks quickly, but he needs to stay committed to all routes to have better consistency. With more focus, he can show that consistency at the next level.

His college production was good, but far from elite. He played in different offenses with different issues and if he gets drafted to a team with a stable quarterback and offensive system, he could produce more at the NFL level than he did in college.

Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Fourth Round Pick
