Position: Wide Receiver
School: USC
Size: 6-foot-4 3/8, 200 pounds
Class: Junior
2025 stats: 49 receptions, 745 receiving yards, 15.2 yards per reception, 4 touchdown receptions
Lane was a four-star recruit in the class of 2023 who signed with USC out of Arizona. He played in six games as a freshman and registered 7 catches for 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His role increased in 2024, as he hauled in 43 passes for 525 yards and 12 touchdowns. He helped the team win seven games on the season. In 2025, Lane had 49 catches for 745 yards and four touchdowns. He led the team to a nine-win season.
Following the season, Lane declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a mid-round pick.
Lane has tremendous size for an NFL wide receiver. He measured in at over 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds at the NFL Combine. His frame is decently filled out and he can add more to it. He had arms that measured over 32 inches. Lane has a big catch radius and is a tough matchup for defensive backs.
Over the last two seasons, Lane has 16 touchdown catches as a great red zone threat. Lane high points the football well and is a size mismatch for virtually every player covering him. He shows good concentration to bring down contested catches in the end zone.
While he doesn’t have the greatest speed, Lane is a deep threat. He can get downfield and win 50-50 balls against corners and safeties. Lane can stretch the field because he comes down with catches after tracking the ball well. He requires focus from defenses.
Lane could play through contact and use his size better. This is in a few different areas, including his run blocking where he could improve with more effort. As a receiver, he can play through physical coverage better, as he can get thrown off his routes and let them impact the catch point too much.
His route-running won’t allow him to separate a lot, especially underneath. He can struggle getting in and out of breaks quickly, which allows defensive backs to mirror his movement. Lane will have to win because of his size and contested catch ability at the next level, because there isn’t much separation to his game.
He struggles to get yardage after the catch. Lane is a possession target who will get what is designed on a play, but not more. Lane doesn’t have the quickness, speed or agility to make defenders miss or to take short catches and make big plays out of them.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Draft Grade: Fourth Round Pick
