The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Jacob Parrish NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Cornerback
School: Kansas State
Size: 5-foot-10, 191 pounds
Class: Junior
2024 stats: 50 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 7 passes defended
Parrish was a three-star recruit in the class of 2022, who decided to stay in-state to play for Kansas State. He played as a reserve during his freshman season, totaling 14 tackles and three passes defended. In 2023 he started, finishing the season with 44 total tackles, nine passes defended and four interceptions. He helped the Wildcats win nine games that season. For the 2024 season, Parrish registered 50 tackles, seven passes defended and an interception. Parrish led the team to another nine-win season.
Following the season, Parrish declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day two pick.
Parrish has great man coverage potential for the next level. He can stay with receivers through their releases in press coverage. Parrish then can stay with receivers through routes, as he mirrors their breaks well. He stays locked in with his man, even if the play is extended longer than most. Parrish can be trusted without help over the top.
He is a good athlete in a few different ways for the position. Parrish has good quickness and burst when it is needed. He can turn that acceleration into longer speed. Parrish ran a 4.35 second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and his play speed matches that. He can change directions well, which helps him in man coverage a lot.
His ball skills are solid. While there are some plays left on the table, Parrish tracks the ball well in the air. He attacks the catch point and goes after the ball as if it is his. Parrish was able to come down with interceptions and when he doesn’t come down with the ball, he can still make plays on it.
His size and length can put him at a disadvantage, especially if he is going to play outside at the next level. He stands at 5-foot-10 and 191 pounds, which is a little undersized for the position. Parrish also has under 31-inch arms, giving him below-average length. This limits how he can match up with bigger receivers.
His run support could be improved for the next level. He has limited size, so he is naturally limited, but Parrish could show more effort. He struggles to shed or evade blocks and get into pursuit. When he does get to the ball carrier, he can’t always make a tackle to complete the play.
Parrish can lose receivers when he is in zone coverage. He will likely be used primarily in man coverage, but when in zone, he can lose sight of receivers as he struggles to maintain good eye balance between the quarterback and the receiver in his zone. More reps in zone coverage can help him get more comfortable.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Third Round Pick
