The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Isaiah Bond NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Wide Receiver
School: Texas
Size: 5-foot-11, 180 pounds
Class: Junior
2024 stats: 34 receptions, 540 receiving yards, 5 touchdown catches, 15.9 yards per catch, 4 rushes, 98 yards, 1 rushing touchdown
Bond was a four-star recruit in the class of 2022, who signed with Alabama out of Georgia. He played a little bit as a freshman, registering 17 receptions for 220 yards and one touchdown. His play improved in 2023, as he hauled in 48 passes for 668 yards and four touchdowns. Bond helped Alabama win 12 games and make the four-team College Football Playoff. Following the season, Bond decided to transfer to Texas. In his lone season with the Longhorns, Bond caught 34 passes for 540 yards and five touchdowns. He led the team to the College Football Playoff, where they made the semi-final.
Following the College Football Playoff, Bond declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. he is a projected day-two pick.
Bond is a good athlete for the wide receiver position. He has good acceleration at the start of the play to get to top speed. When he is at top speed, he can run by defenders, posing a deep threat for an offense. He will be one of the fastest wide receivers in the class. Bond also moves well laterally, showing good agility. To go with all of that, he also has solid body control.
He has great route-running ability as well. Bond has good releases at the line of scrimmage to help separate himself early in a rep. Once he needs to make a break in the route, he can really sell a defensive back before cutting in a different direction. He changes speeds well and gets out of his breaks quickly. Bond can run a wide variety of routes and also excels at getting separation. If he can find the soft spot against zone coverage more, he can even be better at route running.
With his movement abilities, Bond can run after the catch well. When he gets the ball in his hands, he can accelerate quickly to leave defenders behind. He has good top speed to take short passes all the way to the end zone. Bond has good agility and elusiveness to make defenders miss, but he also has good vision to run to open space and away from defenders.
At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, Bond is smaller for the wide receiver position. He could fit in the slot more, but he will be an undersized outside receiver at the NFL level. With his size comes a limited catch radius, which makes it hard for him to battle with corners. He can add play strength and fill out his frame more to be a more well-rounded receiver.
Bond won’t offer much as a blocker in the run game. He doesn’t have the size or strength to sustain blocks, so he won’t be a fit for all NFL teams unless he can get stronger. Bond can show better blocking technique, by keeping his hands inside, but also can show more effort as a blocker to improve.
There were a decent amount of drops on Bond’s tape. He can miss some of the easy ones due to lack of focus. The issue becomes bigger as he can’t always battle for contested catches due to his size. With his limited catch radius, quarterbacks will need to put the ball on target and bond needs to focus on making those catches at the next level.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
