The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Harold Fanin Jr. NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Tight End
School: Bowling Green
Size: 6-foot-3, 230 pounds
Class: Junior
2024 stats: 117 receptions, 1,555 receiving yards, 10 touchdown catches, 13.3 yards per catch, 9 rushes, 65 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown
Fannin Jr. was an unranked linebacker recruit who stayed in-state to play for Bowling Green. After playing safety and wide receiver in high school, Fannin made the switch to tight end. He immediately produced for the Falcons with 19 catches for 218 yards and one touchdown. Fannin improved in 2023 with 44 catches for 623 yards and six touchdowns. His play helped Bowling Green win seven games. In 2024, Fannin had a historic year with 117 receptions for 1,555 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. He led the Falcons to another seven-win season.
Following the season, Fannin declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day-two pick.
Fannin is a great athlete with nice movement skills for a tight end. He has good acceleration for the position and has a nice top speed. The former high school wide receiver shows those movement skills, as he has good agility and leaping ability as well. He can make catches off of his frame and can high-point the football well, showcasing his athleticism.
He is a great route-runner for the position. Fannin is able to get in and out of his breaks quickly, which helps him run crisp routes and create separation. Against zone coverage, Fannin can find the soft spot and be a quarterback-friendly target. He ran a decent number of routes in college, but could add more to his game at the NFL level.
His run-after-the-catch ability is unique for a tight end. Fannin Jr. uses his good movement skills to pick up big gains after the catch, which sometimes includes him taking the ball all the way to the end zone. He can be difficult for defensive backs to tackle because of his combination of size and speed. Fannin uses good vision and athleticism to be a good threat after the catch.
Fannin is a smaller tight end at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds. This limits his catch radius compared to other tight ends, although his athleticism helps him make up for some of it. He likely can’t be trusted to be an in-line tight end and will have to be a specialized, split-wide tight end. Fannin will be fighting an uphill battle with play strength at the next level.
He likely won’t create an impact as a blocker at the NFL level. Fannin lacks the play strength and size to sustain blocks in the running game, specifically against defensive linemen and linebackers. He can improve his technique and keep his pad level down, but even that will likely leave him short of being an impactful run blocker.
There are times where Fannin can struggle to fight through physical coverage. He needs to use his play strength to create a mismatch when defensive backs try to crowd him with their coverage. Fannin can be a more effective tight end if he can play a little tougher through contact when trying to separate.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
