The 2026 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Francis Mauigoa NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Offensive Tackle
School: Miami
Size: 6-foot-6, 335 pounds
Class: Junior
2025 stats: First Team All-American
Mauigoa was a five-star recruit in the class of 2023 who decided to stay in the state of Florida to play for Miami. He played as a freshman at right tackle, earning All-ACC Honorable Mention honors. In 2024, he was a Second-Team All-ACC Pick. He was a First Team All-American in 2025 and helped Miami make the National Championship Game.
Following the season, Mauigoa decided to go pro. He is currently projected to be a first round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Mauigoa has great size and strength for the position. He stands at 6-foot-6 and 335 pounds, sporting a filled-out frame. With his good frame, comes good play strength. He is able to anchor well against power rushers when he is pass protecting. Mauigoa also shows off his power as a run blocker on a routine basis.
The right tackle is a great run blocker. He is able to move defenders completely out of the way to clear big holes for his running backs. His power starts from his first contact with a defender and makes it hard for them to shed. He can double team players and then also get to the second level decently as well.
His experience at right tackle shows on tape, as he has good football IQ that is earned through a lot of reps. He is able to spot where pressure is coming from and is able to handle it well. Mauigoa can handle stunts and twists well too, as he is able to pass off blocks to his teammates well. He processes quickly and will be able to use that as an asset.
While he has good size, his length is short for his frame. This will limit his ability to control matchups and let NFL defenders shed quicker. He will have to trust his technique, but may have some issues even if his technique turns out to be solid.
Mauigoa is a solid athlete, but he doesn’t have the best lateral agility. He can struggle to recover when speed rushers have a step on him. Mauigoa also can have trouble hitting second-level defenders at times because of his lack of agility.
Due to his length and agility issues, Mauigoa has a tendency to lunge at times. He needs to keep his balance and stay patient. If he keeps a solid base, Mauigoa should be able to win in a lot of his matchups. Some teams may want to move him inside to guard because of these issues, but he has played well at tackle during his college career and can have a good career on the right side, even if there is some potential on the inside.
Projected Draft Range: First Round Pick
Draft Grade: First Round Pick
