Elijah Arroyo NFL Draft Profile

Publish Date: February 19, 2025

The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Elijah Arroyo NFL Draft Profile.

Elijah Arroyo Background

Position: Tight End

School: Miami

Size: 6-foot-4, 245 pounds

Class: Redshirt Junior

2024 stats: 35 receptions, 590 receiving yards, 7 touchdown catches, 16.9 yards per catch

Arroyo was a four-star prospect who signed with Miami out of Texas. He caught five passes for 86 yards in his first season. In 2022, he had five catches for 66 yards, but had a season-ending injury. He had more injuries in 2023, but caught one pass for 11 yards. Arroyo managed to stay healthy in 2024, registering 35 receptions for 590 yards and seven touchdowns. He led the Hurricanes to a 10-3 overall record.

Following the season, Arroyo declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a second to third-round pick.

Elijah Arroyo Strengths

Arroyo is a dynamic athlete for the tight end position. He has decent acceleration but also has a good top speed. Arroyo can attack the seams of the defense and can stretch the field vertically. Arroyo has good agility and leaping ability to make him a well-rounded athlete as well. He can high-point the football and poses a good red zone threat because of that.

His athleticism allows him to be great at running after the catch. He has good acceleration after the catch. Arroyo has the speed to turn short catches into big gains, as he can outrun linebackers. He has some wiggle that comes from his solid agility for the position. Arroy has good vision with the ball in his hands as well.

He has reliable hands, with few focus drops on tape. Quarterbacks can rely on him to catch the football. He can make catches on balls that are thrown outside of his frame and can also excel at contested catches. Arroyo has a big catch radius as well, which makes him even more reliable.

Elijah Arroyo Weaknesses

Arroyo was listed at 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, but it looks like that may have been ambitious. He appears to have room to fill out his frame. Doing so would give him added play strength, enabling him to be a better blocker. This would allow him to be more versatile, as he could be more of an in-line tight end with the added size, whereas now he may just be one that is split out wide.

He only had one year of production at Miami. That is always something NFL teams will have to look into. The one-year of production is concerning, but what adds to it is his injury history. He was only able to play 11 games in 2022 and 2023 missing about half of each season. Arroyo will have to check out medically to really improve his stock.

While he has the movement ability to be a good route runner, he doesn’t always run the crispest routes. He can struggle to get in and out of his breaks, which can make it hard to separate from man-to-man coverage. Arroyo can also round off his routes at times too, which also makes him easier to mirror.

Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick

Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
