The 2022 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Coby Bryant 2022 NFL Draft Profile.

Class: Senior
2021 stats: 44 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 11 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, 1 touchdown
Bryant has been a key part of a great Cincinnati secondary over the last few years. He is now trying to take his game to the pro level.
Out of high school, Bryant stayed in the state of Ohio as a three-star prospect to play for the Bearcats. He mostly played special teams in 2017, but stepped into the starting lineup in 2018. He had two interceptions and nine passes defended. The Bearcats went 11-2 with a win in the Military Bowl. In 2019, Bryant totaled eight passes defended and one interception. He helped Cincinnati win 11 games again in 2019 and they capped the year off with a win in the Birmingham Bowl. With four interceptions and seven passes defended, Bryant led the Bearcats to a 9-1 record and an appearance in the Peach Bowl. After deciding to return for another season, Bryant recorded two interceptions and 11 passes defended. Cincinnati was able to make the College Football Playoff and Bryant won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s top defensive back.
Following a great college career, Bryant is headed to the NFL. He is currently projected to be a day two pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Bryant is one of the most experienced corners in this class and it shows up on tape. He has high football IQ and understands how wide receivers will attack him. Bryant uses his eyes well and anticipates routes that other corners don’t. His smarts keep him in position.
He is a better zone corner than he is in man to man. That is because he uses his eyes well to read the quarterback, while still watching the receiver coming into his zone. He can close down quickly and makes plays on the ball.
His ball skills are also solid. He had nine interceptions and 35 passes defended in his career. Bryant tracks the ball well in the air and then can go after it. He is fully capable of picking it off or swatting it down. Once the ball is in his hands, he is a threat to return it for a touchdown.
Bryant will need to add some strength to his frame. He has good height at 6-foot-1, but has shorter arms and not that much weight. At 192 pounds, he can add some muscle to his frame, which would help him match the physicality of NFL receivers.
He can sometimes struggle with speed. Bryant isn’t the fastest cornerback in the class. When wide receivers try to stretch the field vertically, Bryant can have some clunky transitions when trying to flip his hips and then the receivers can get open downfield. He may need safety help over the top.
As mentioned, he has tighter hips. This limits his ability in man coverage. Players who run crisp routes can sometimes take advantage of this, as he has some trouble changing directions. A team drafting Bryant will need to play a lot of zone coverage to play to his strengths.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
