Chris Paul Jr. NFL Draft Profile

Publish Date: April 22, 2025

The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Chris Paul Jr. NFL Draft Profile.

Chris Paul Jr. Background

Position: Linebacker

School: Ole Miss

Size: 6-foot-1, 222 pounds

Class: Redshirt Junior

2024 stats: 88 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 1 interception, 4 passes defended, 1 fumble recovery

As a three-star recruit in the class of 2021 who signed with Arkansas out of Georgia. He redshirted in his first season, then totaled 62 tackles, eight tackles for loss and four sacks in 2022. He helped the Razorbacks win seven games this season. In 2023, Paul registered 74 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and two sacks. Arkansas had a rough season, only winning four games. Paul then transferred to Ole Miss for the 2024 season. He tallied 88 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He led the team to a 10-win season.

Following the season, Paul declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is a projected mid-round pick.

Chris Paul Jr. Strengths

Paul is a good athlete for the linebacker position. While he has just average long speed, he has good short-area movement abilities. He shows good quickness and can get to his top speed relatively quickly. Paul also changes directions well too, which is useful in coverage and in his pursuit of ball carriers. He will fit in athletically at the next level.

Over the course of his college career, Paul’s diagnosis and awareness improved. Paul sees the field clearly. He recognizes blocking schemes and knows how to beat them. Paul shows good awareness in coverage as well. When he sees the play clearly, his quickness helps him make plays on the ball.

His third-down potential is great for the next level. He is a good blitzer, whose quickness can create trouble for pass blockers. Paul is also usesful as a quarterback spy, as he has the quickness to stay with most quarterbacks. He has the athleticism to improve his coverage. Paul offers solid zone coverage to an NFL team, even if his man coverage can be improved to help him stay attached to his assignments.

Chris Paul Jr. Weaknesses

Paul is a smaller linebacker who will need to play on the weakside at the next level. He stands at 6-foot-1 and 222 pounds, which leaves him with little play strength to rely on when going up against NFL athletes. Paul also has short arms, which measure in less than 30 inches. That makes it harder for him to shed blocks.

While his short-area athleticism is good, his long speed is average. This can give him trouble against both the run and the pass. In pursuit of ball carriers, they can sometimes beat his angle and produce big plays. In coverage, he can struggle to keep up with running backs and some tight ends.

He has good patience, but at times he could show more aggression. There are times where he tries reading the play too much and doesn’t trust his instincts. If he can improve his reaction time and play more aggressively, there is a lot more production on the table for him to achieve.

Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick

Draft Grade: Third Round Pick
