The 2024 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Caleb Williams 2024 NFL Draft Profile.

Position: Quarterback

School: USC

Size: 6-foot-1, 215 pounds

Class: Junior

2023 stats: 3,633 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, five interceptions, 68.6 completion percentage, 142 rushing yards, 11 rushing touchdowns

Williams has been one of the most hyped-up draft prospects in recent memory over his college career. He is now in the 2024 NFL Draft.

As a five-star recruit in the class of 2021, Williams signed with Oklahoma. In his first season of college football, Williams passed for 1,912 yards, 21 touchdowns and four interceptions. While he didn’t start the season as the starting quarterback, he took the job by the end of the season. He helped Oklahoma win 11 games including the Alamo Bowl. Following the season, he followed his coach Lincoln Riley to USC. In his first season with the Trojans, he passed for 4,537 yards, 42 touchdowns and five interceptions on 66.6 percent completion to win the Heisman Trophy. Williams was the star of a team that won 11 games. For the 2023 season, Williams passed for 3,633 yards, 30 touchdowns and five interceptions on 68.6 percent completion. The Trojans took a small step backward with just seven regular season wins.

Following the regular season, Williams opted out of the bowl game to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is the projected top pick.

Caleb Williams Strengths

Williams has unique arm talent. He has a strong arm that helps him push the ball downfield. Williams can throw with velocity which helps him fit the ball into tight windows. Along with that, his arm strength allows him to throw on the run and still keep the speed on the ball. He won’t leave many passes hanging in the air to be intercepted.

His athletic ability and build help him play out of structure. When a play breaks down, Williams has speed and strength to elude pressure. After he leaves the pocket, Williams keeps his eyes downfield and is able to throw on the run with accuracy. If he decides to run, he has solid speed and strength to pick up yardage.

Williams has shown good accuracy to all areas of the field. He has a solid deep ball, but can also layer passes into the middle of the field. While his touch could use some work, he is accurate in short areas of the field. He is accurate on the run as well. Williams, when his footwork is clean, has great ball placement and can make almost any NFL throw.

Caleb Williams Weaknesses

While he has great escapability to get away from pressure, Williams can have trouble playing in structure. He has shown flashes of doing well, but at times can take off too soon trying to make a play rather than staying in the pocket. Williams also holds the ball too long at times rather than getting it out quickly, which has mixed results.

He will need to take care of the ball better at the NFL level. Williams can sometimes get too much faith in his arm and tries to fit the ball into windows that aren’t there. He is aggressive in trying to make plays, but that can lead to turnovers. Along with throwing interceptions, Williams also has way too many fumbles and will need to protect the football better.

Williams is well-built for his size, but his height could be an issue. He is listed at 6-foot-1, but may measure in shorter than that. Balls could be batted at the line of scrimmage and Williams could have trouble seeing the whole field. This may result in him leaving the pocket to make plays, where things are more open.
