The 2024 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Brock Bowers 2024 NFL Draft Profile.

Brock Bowers Background

Position: Tight End

Bowers was a rare star at the tight end position at Georgia for three seasons. Now he is in the 2024 NFL Draft.

As a four-star recruit out of California, Bowers joined Georgia in the class of 2021. He immediately made an impact as a freshman with 56 receptions for 882 yards and 13 touchdowns. His play helped the Bulldogs win the National Championship Game. In 2022, Bowers continued his impressive play with 63 receptions for 942 yards and seven touchdowns. Again he helped the team win a national championship. For the 2023 season, Bowers battled injury, but finished with 56 receptions for 714 yards and six touchdowns. Georgia lost one game, but ended up winning the Orange Bowl.

Following the regular season, Bowers declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is a projected early first-round pick.

Brock Bowers Strengths

Bowers is a great athlete for the tight end position, which has put him in a spot to be selected very early. He has good quickness, agility and speed. His play speed shows up, but he is also rumored to be able to run somewhere in the 4.5s for a 40-yard dash. In addition, he has good body control and leaping ability, making him a big target for quarterbacks. He routinely makes catches out of frame to help that strength.

Georgia used Bowers is so many ways because of his ability to run after the catch. He was even used as a runner at times, as well as on screens. Bowers uses his good quickness and speed to pick up plenty of yardage after the catch. He also has good vision, showing the ability to run to open space to maximize the amount of yards a play can pick up.

His route-running also gives him a competitive advantage. He is able to get in and out of his breaks quickly to create separation. Linebackers and safeties can have trouble mirroring him. He also finds the soft spot against zone coverage, becoming a safe target for quarterbacks. Bowers ran a solid route tree at Georgia.

Brock Bowers Weaknesses

Bowers doesn’t have the size of a prototypical tight end. He is 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds. His speed and athletic ability make up for it, but he won’t have the ability to be a size mismatch in a way that other players in the class are. Adding strength can help his all-around game.

He is a good blocker, but he wasn’t used as an in-line tight end much. Bowers can add strength and develop into a better in-line tight end, but he was at his best when detached from the line of scrimmage. Teams will have to use him correctly to get the most out of him.

In the 2023 season, Bowers suffered an ankle injury that forced him to miss time. He recovered from his injury and helped the Bulldogs down the stretch. Bowers wasn’t injury prone during his career, but NFL teams will look into his injury.
