Strange helped the Nittany Lions go 7-6. In the 2022 season, Strange tallied 32 receptinos for 362 yards and five touchdowns. He led Penn State to an 11-2 record and a Rose Bowl win.

Brenton Strange Strengths
Strange isn’t the biggest tight end, but he is a good blocker. He has good effort and has a desire to finish plays to open up big holes for running backs. While he can line up on the line of scrimmage, he also proved to be a good lead blocker out of the backfield. Strange can also be used in pass protection and holds up there as well.
His versatility will be appealing to teams. Strange has the ability to be an in-line tight end, but he can also play in the slot if needed. He also has experience playing H-back. Teams will be able to use Strange in a variety of ways.
He has good athleticism to help him be productive at the next level. Strange has ok quickness and solid agility. This helps him create separation. To go with that, he also has solid body control to help him bring in catches that are off his frame.
Brenton Strange Weaknesses
His run blocking is a strength, but there are areas for improvement. He needs to have better technique, mostly with his hand usage. Strange could have better punch timing and hand placement. Currently his hands get too wide. He also needs to maintain his leverage.
While he has solid athleticism, Strange has just average play speed. He will not be able to create a threat consistently down the seam. His good change of direction skills will help him get open underneath, but Strange is not a threat for a deep play.
Strange has had his fair share of focus drops. He needs to look the ball all the way in before turning and running upfield to help fix the issue. Strange already doesn’t have the greatest catch-radius, so he needs to convert on the passes that are on target.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Draft Grade: Fourth Round Pick
