Bradyn Swinson NFL Draft Profile

Publish Date: April 22, 2025

The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Bradyn Swinson NFL Draft Profile.

Bradyn Swinson Background

Position: Edge Rusher

School: LSU

Size: 6-foot-4, 255 pounds

Class: Senior

2024 stats: 58 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, 3 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles

Swinson was a three-star recruit in the class of 2020 who signed with Oregon out of Georgia. He played as a reserve in his three years at Oregon. Swinson had four tackles for loss and three sacks across those three years. Before the 2023 season, Swinson transferred to LSU. He had one start in 2023, but played as a reserve with 35 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and two sacks. His play helped the Tigers win 10 games. In 2024, he registered 58 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. He led the Tigers to a nine-win season.

Following the season, Swinson has been preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a mid-round pick.

Bradyn Swinson Strengths

Swinson has a solid starting frame for the NFL at the edge rusher position. He stands at 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, which is right around the average for an NFL edge rusher. His frame looks like it could fill out a bit more with time to help him add strength. With his size, comes good length, as he has almost 33 and a half-inch arms, which helps him shed.

He can win as a pass rusher in a few different ways. He can long-arm offensive tackles, but also can convert speed to power. During his college career, Swinson developed a decent amount of pass rush moves. He has a stutter move, chops and rips. Swinson also has counter moves to help him get after the quarterback.

His athleticism is solid for the position as well. He has good quickness at the snap of the ball, timing things up well, but also accelerating to start the play. That quickness leads into solid speed, which can have the offensive linemen a step late to block him. While he isn’t the most flexible, he can bend and change directions decently.

Bradyn Swinson Weaknesses

Swinson has a good starting frame, but needs to fill it out better. He can be overpowered by offensive linemen too much. Swinson can get moved off his spot and struggle to shed. As a pass rusher, he struggles to get through powerful offensive linemen if he can’t get around them.

While he has good pass rush moves and counters, Swinson needs to make sure he has a rush plan going into each play. His play can get a bit erratic and inconsistent. With a solid rush plan, he can be more consistent and keep offensive linemen wondering what will come next.

He will not play a big role against the run. Swinson struggles to anchor to hold his spot and shed blocks. He can get moved out of the way by blockers, clearing huge holes for an offense. While he has the athleticism to pursue ball carriers, he simply can’t free himself enough from blockers enough to consistently take down ball carriers.

Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick

Draft Grade: Fourth Round Pick
