Bernhard Raimann 2022 NFL Draft Profile

Publish Date: April 26, 2022

The 2022 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Bernhard Raimann 2022 NFL Draft Profile.

Bernhard Raiman Background

Position: Offensive Tackle

Size: 6-foot-7, 305 pounds

Class: Senior

2021 stats: First Team All-MAC

After starting his college career as a tight end, Raiman changed positions to play left tackle. He developed quickly and now is one of the more intriguing tackles in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Raimann was a two-star tight end, who signed with Central Michigan after becoming a foreign exchange student in the state of Michigan for high school. He started four games as a freshman, registering 10 catches for 88 yards. Raimann followed that up with a 10-catch, 76-yard sophomore season. Following that season, he made the transition to left tackle. He started at left tackle in 2020 and played solidly. The Chippewas went 3-3 on the season. Raimann was a First-Team All-MAC selection in 2021 for his play. Central Michigan went 9-4 and finished the season with a bowl win over Washington State.

After solid development at tackle, Raimann is headed to the NFL level. He is currently projected to be a second or third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Bernhard Raimann Strengths

Raimann has a great frame for an offensive tackle at 6-foot-7 and 305 pounds. He has added weight to his frame over his career and looks like he can add some more to his frame, which will be necessary. Along with his size, he also has good length and uses it well.

As a former tight end, Raimann has good athleticism for an offensive tackle. He gets out of his stance quickly and then moves well. Raimann has the lateral mobility to mirror pass rushers and when he moves forward, he can get to the second level and make blocks on linebackers in the running game. He’ll need to keep this athleticism and mobility as he adds weight to his frame.

He is a solid pass blocker for such a new lineman. Raimann can have robotic pass sets, but he can move and should be able to improve this in time. His ability to stay in front of pass rushers with his feet is really unique. His good lateral mobility and length can stymie most speed rushers.

Bernhard Raimann Weaknesses

Raimann is still learning the position and that is apparent. He has made big strides in just two seasons of play, but there are times when he is late to recognize blitzers or rushers that come on twists and stunts. There may be a steep learning curve for Raimann in his first year in the league.

He will need to add muscle to his frame, because he needs more play strength. Raimann has already added weight in order to move to tackle. He’ll need to add more to get a better push in the run game and to handle power rushers better.

Added strength will help him when run blocking. He currently doesn’t move defenders that much and can get beat. Even with added strength, he needs to maintain his leverage and make sure that he gets his hands on defenders early to control the matchup.

Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
