The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Anthony Belton NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Offensive Tackle
School: NC State
Size: 6-foot-5, 345 pounds
Class: Senior
2024 stats: N/A
Belton was a three-star recruit out of Florida who signed with NC State in the class of 2021. He didn’t play much as a freshman, but then he stepped into the starting lineup in 2022 at left tackle. Belton helped the team win eight games that season. He returned to his left tackle spot in 2023 and was named Third Team All-ACC. NC State won nine games in 2023. For the 2024 season, Belton played well again at left tackle and led the team to six wins.
Following the season, Belton has been preparing for the NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a third to fifth-round pick.
Belton is a massive tackle prospect. He stands at 6-foot-5 and 345 pounds, making him one of the bigger tackle prospects in the class. With his size comes great length and strength. He uses his size, strength and length to neutralize defenders. There won’t be many defenders who can overpower him.
He is a mauler of a run blocker and will be able to do well in the NFL. Belton can block one on one very well, clearing plenty of space for running backs. He has enough mobility to get to the second level and make blocks on linebackers. His strength is good enough that he sustains most of his blocks in the run game.
There won’t be many power rushers that can gain ground on Belton. He has great strength and that translates into a good anchor to hold his ground against power rushers. Defenders will have to find something else besides a bullrush or speed to power to get past him when he is in pass protection.
He has to improve his hand placement and timing to be better at the next level. Belton has strong hands, so he needs to activate them quicker to help control his matchups. He can also keep his hands inside to help him sustain his blocks longer. Fixing his hand timing and placement will help him effectively use his power.
Belton is not the most athletic tackle in the class. He will likely move from left tackle to right tackle so he doesn’t have to protect the quarterback’s blindside. Belton can have trouble blocking in space and can also struggle with athletic edge rushers. His lateral agility will fall behind others in the class.
Throughout his college career, Belton had a knack for picking up penalties. He needs to play more disciplined in order to be trusted by an NFL coaching staff. Belton killed a lot of drives with his penalties in college and has to cut them out in order to reach his full potential.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Draft Grade: Third Round Pick
