The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Aireontae Ersery NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Offensive Tackle
School: Minnesota
Size: 6-foot-5, 339 pounds
Class: Senior
2024 stats: All-Big Ten First Team
Ersery was a three-star prospect in the class of 2020, who signed with Minnesota out of Missouri. He played in one game during the 2020 season, then redshirted in 2021. Ersery jumped into the starting lineup in 2022 at left tackle. He helped the Gophers win nine games that season. In 2023, he returned at left tackle and made the All-Big Ten Second Team. Minnesota won six games in 2023. Ersery was an All-Big Ten First Team selection in 2024, leading the Gophers to eight wins.
Following the season, Ersery has been preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day-two pick.
Ersery has good size, strength and length for the position. He stands at 6-foot-5 and 339 pounds, giving him the great size. Ersery has good length as well, which he uses to neutralize defenders. With his size and length comes good strength. He has good play strength and grip strength to sustain his blocks.
He excels at run blocking specifically right now. Eresery can clear big holes by using his strength to move defenders completely out of the way. He has enough lateral movement skills to get to the second level and can execute blocks there. Ersery will be a good run blocker in the NFL from his first day.
His anchor ability is great, as he can hold his ground. When power rushers come at Ersery, he is able to control them and not allow them to shed and give after the quarterback. NFL pass rushers will need to find different ways to get after the quarterback other than using speed to power or a bullrush.
Ersery’s pad level can get too high at times, which makes him lose his power. When he loses his leverage, smaller defenders can disengage and get to the quarterback. With more effort and focus to keep his pad level down, Ersery can maintain his leverage and power to help him win more matchups.
He often leans and lunges in pass protection, which gets him off-balance. Ersery needs to maintain a nice and steady base to make sure he stays on balance, which will require him trusting his technique. He is susceptible to inside moves because he gets off-balance and doesn’t have the recovery speed to get back in time.
While he moves ok in a straight line, Ersery has trouble with lateral movements. He won’t be great on pulls or screens when he is asked to block on the edge, as it requires him to change direction. Ersery can also struggle to move in pass pro, as he doesn’t have great foot quickness or recovery speed.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
