The 2026 football season is here, but it is never too early to look ahead. Here is the 2027 NFL Mock Draft October 7.
Note: This draft order is based on current draft order.
Video:
1. Houston Texans– Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State Buckeyes
The Texans may not be drafting at this spot come April and will likely trade if they end up here. But being so early, it is fair to mock them the best player available in Smith, who is having a great season so far for the Buckeyes.
2. Tennessee Titans– Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Tennessee could end up going quarterback if they are drafting this high. If they choose to believe in Cam Ward for another season, they have to improve their secondary. Moore is a lockdown corner who is capable of being an impact player next season.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers– Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas Longhorns
Simmons has been on fire this season, registering 7.5 sacks. He can instantly upgrade the pass rush and the defense as a whole.
4. Los Angeles Chargers– Charlie Becker, WR, Indiana Hoosiers
The Chargers can’t seem to get their offense going. Getting a better outside receiver could open things up. Becker has good speed and also wins contested catches well.
5. Miami Dolphins– Arch Manning, QB, Texas Longhorns
Manning has had his ups and his downs, but the talent is there. The Dolphins stripped their team this offseason for a chance toget a franchise quarterback and likely can’t pass up on a Manning.
6. New York Jets– Drew Mestemaker, QB, Oklahoma State Cowboys
After a slower start to the season, Mestemaker has come on strong, showcasing his natural arm talent. The Jets have Geno Smith, but that isn’t the long-term answer at quarterback.
7. New Orleans Saints– Jordan Seaton, OT, LSU Tigers
Seaton can protect Tyler Shough’s blindside as an athletic pass protector. The Saints haven’t had the best offensive line play this season.
8. Washington Commanders– Cam Coleman, WR, Texas Longhorns
Signing Stefon Diggs put a band-aid on things for the season, but the Commanders need a long-term wide receiver for Jayden Daniels. Coleman has good athleticism and body control to win on the outside.
9. Arizona Cardinals– Darian Mensah, QB, Miami Hurricanes
The Cardinals are looking for a franchise quarterback and might take Mensah, who has played very efficiently this season. He has good accuracy and decision-making, which could help him get the most out of Arizona’s weapons.
10. Cincinnati Bengals– KJ Bolden, S, Georgia Bulldogs
Cincinnati invested in their defense this past offseason, but have some impending free agents in the secondary. Bolden can start next to Bryan Cook to stabilize the position.
11. New York Jets (via IND)- Will Echoles, DL, Ole Miss Rebels
The Jets already drafted a quarterback in this mock and now can improve the defense by taking Echoles. He has shown unique athleticism for his size and can be disruptive.
12. New York Jets (via DAL)- Brauntae Johnson, S, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Jets have several safeties hitting free agency next season and Johnson has a good blend of size and athleticism for the position.
13. Pittsburgh Steelers– CJ Carr, QB, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Pittsburgh seemingly likes Will Howard and Drew Allar, but a quarterback for the future should be taken if they have the chance in this class. Carr has shown growth this season, as he is processing well and protecting the football.
14. Dallas Cowboys (via GB)- Ellis Robinson, CB, Georgia Bulldogs
The Cowboys did just trade for Joey Porter Jr., but they may let him walk in free agency. Robinson can help the secondary, even if Porter Jr. is retained.
15. Detroit Lions– Dylan Stewart, EDGE, South Carolina Gamecocks
Dylan Stewart is currently suspended indefinitely. Dan Campbell may be a coach who can get through to him. If he does, a pass rush featuring Aidan Hutchinson and Stewart could really help the defense take a step forward.
16. Philadelphia Eagles– Trevor Goosby, OT, Texas Longhorns
Lane Johnson has decided to retire and the Eagles need to look at improving the offensive line regardless. Goosby plays right tackle, but the Eagles have had success flipping players to the right before.
17. Atlanta Falcons– Ryan Coleman-Williams, WR, Alabama Crimson Tide
Atlanta has the offense rolling with Michael Penix Jr. healthy. A lot has been put into the defense lately, so they can draft a wide receiver to pair with Drake London in Coleman-Williams, who seems to be rebounding well after a down sophomore season.
18. Denver Broncos– Ahmad Moten, DL, Miami Hurricanes
Denver has a good defense, but they can improve the defensive line. Moten has been banged up to start the season, but when healthy, he can create an impact like he did last season on Miami’s CFP run.
19. Carolina Panthers– Zabien Brown, CB, Alabama Crimson Tide
Brown has started every year of his college career and held up well. He can immediately help the Panthers’ defense, which has had issues in the secondary.
20. New England Patriots– Carter Smith, OT, Indiana Hoosiers
Smith’s length may make some teams want to move him inside. He can either play right tackle or move inside to guard to help the Patriots protect Drake Maye.
21. Cleveland Browns (via LAR)- Julian Sayin, QB, Ohio State Buckeyes
Cleveland has had some good offense this year, but Sayin could be a quarterback of the future. He is accurate and makes good decisions with the ball, which Todd Monken could utilize in his offense.
22. Cleveland Browns– Kelley Jones, CB, Mississippi State Bulldogs
The Browns improved the offense a lot in the 2026 NFL Draft and got a quarterback with their first pick in this mock. They can now get a lanky corner with ball skills in Jones, who has played well this season.
23. Las Vegas Raiders– Nick Marsh, WR, Indiana Hoosiers
Marsh is a great blocker who can win on the outside and give Fernando Mendoza a good target. Picking a wide receiver raises the ceiling of the Las Vegas offense.
24. Seattle Seahawks– Yhonzae Pierre, EDGE, Alabama Crimson Tide
This could be DeMarcus Lawrence’s last season, so drafting Pierre can help them get after opposing quarterbacks.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars– Justin Scott, DL, Miami Hurricanes
The interior defensive line can be improved by taking Scott, who can disrupt plays with his size and athleticism.
26. Buffalo Bills– Ashton Hampton, CB, Clemson Tigers
The Bills have taken corner in recent drafts, but the play from the secondary needs to improve. Hampton had a good game against Miami and star receiver Malachi Toney, boosting his stock.
27. New York Giants– David Stone, DL, Oklahoma Sooners
Stone has been injured early in the season and hasn’t started 2026 off well. He is still athletic and uses his quickness well, which could help a Giants’ interior defensive line that has some weaknesses.
28. Chicago Bears– Kenyatta Jackson, EDGE, Ohio State Buckeyes
Chicago’s offense is playing well, but their defense has some areas that need improvement. Jackson has waited his turn and developed at Ohio State and is now producing the last two seasons.
29. Baltimore Ravens– Trey’Dez Green, TE, LSU Tigers
The Ravens like to use multiple tight ends and Green is a matchup nightmare given his size and body control.
30. Minnesota Vikings– Kade Pieper, IOL, Iowa Hawkeyes
While the Vikings have solid tackles, the interior offensive line can improve and Pieper is a great zone blocker.
31. Kansas City Chiefs– Jamari Johnson, TE, Oregon Ducks
Travis Kelce has mulled retirement in recent offseasons and this could be the last run. Johnson had over 500 receiving yards last season for Oregon while sharing targets at the tight end position with Kenyon Sadiq.
32. San Francisco 49ers– A’Mauri Washington, DL, Oregon Ducks
San Francisco doesn’t have as much talent up front on defense, even if they are winning games. Washington can help them stop the run early in his career.
