The 2021 football season is over. It is never too early to look ahead to the draft. Here is the 2022 NFL Mock Draft March 22.
2022 NFL Mock Draft March 22
1. Jacksonville Jaguars- Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
With the franchise tag being placed on Cam Robinson, the Jaguars will likely go with a defensive player with the first overall pick. Hutchinson is very technically sound and can help their pass rush from day one.
2. Detroit Lions- Malik Willis, QB, Liberty
Willis is now the betting favorite to be the second overall pick. Willis has an NFL-level arm and can run, but will need to work on his decision-making.
3. Houston Texans- Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
The Texans need help all over the field. While they still have Laremy Tunsil on the roster, the rest of the offensive line needs to be upgraded to protect Davis Mills.
4. New York Jets- Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
For the Jets’ defense to really improve, they need to get more pressure on the quarterback. Thibodeaux wins with great traits and also holds up against the run.
5. New York Giants- Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State
Without a quarterback worth taking, the Giants should continue to improve the offensive line. Ekwonu succeeded at left tackle in college, but could move to guard at the next level if needed.
6. Carolina Panthers- Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
If the Panthers don’t like any of the quarterbacks at this point, they need to continue to fix their offensive line, even if it means they are stuck in quarterback purgatory.
7. New York Giants (via CHI)- Travon Walker, DL, Georgia
The Giants rank near the bottom of the league in sacks per game. Walker could play inside or out and tested well athletically.
8. Atlanta Falcons- Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh
After trading away Matt Ryan, the Falcons are set for a rebuild. They may still address the quarterback position before the draft, but drafting a rookie may still be on the table. Pickett showed his gunslinging mentality, but was also decently efficient this past year at Pittsburgh.
9. Seattle Seahawks (via DEN)- Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss
After trading away Russell Wilson, the Broncos have Drew Lock at quarterback. If they don’t believe in him, they need to select a quarterback in the draft. Corral has a good arm, but needs to work on reading the whole field.
10. New York Jets (via SEA)- Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
While the Jets may be hesitant to draft another safety early in the draft, Hamilton can do it all as a safety from playing against the run to playing single-high coverage.
11. Washington Commanders- Drake London, WR, USC
The Commanders were able to make some additions to their offensive line. They can add to their wide receiver room to make the offense more dynamic. London excels at winning jump balls.
12. Minnesota Vikings- Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
Minnesota has Cameron Dantzler at corner, but are otherwise pretty thin at the position. Gardner is lanky and didn’t allow a touchdown in his college career.
13. Houston Texans (via CLE)- Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
The Texans have a full roster in need of rebuilding. They can take a risk on Stingley who has a Lifsranc injury, but is someone who is extremely talented.
14. Baltimore Ravens- Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia
The Ravens need a big nose tackle to be disruptive in the middle of their 3-4 defense and Davis is a perfect fit. Michael Pierce was brought back, but Davis’ value may be to hard to pass up.
15. Philadelphia Eagles (via MIA)- Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
Jalen Hurts has earned the right to start next season at quarterback. The Eagles need more weapons for him to utilize along with DeVonta Smith. Wilson is a quality route-runner who has some wiggle.
16. Philadelphia Eagles (via IND)- Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah
Philadelphia can upgrade a lot of areas with their three first-round picks. They need to target a linebacker at some point in the draft, as their linebackers haven’t been great this season.
17. Los Angeles Chargers- Devonte Wyatt, DL, Georgia
Wyatt can help the Chargers’ run defense improve next season. The Chargers have loaded the defense up, but still need help on the interior.
18. New Orleans Saints- Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
Now that Jameis Winston has been re-signed, the Saints need to get him more weapons. Burks is a bigger and more athletic receiver than most in the class.
19. Philadelphia Eagles-Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson
The Eagles can get another good corner across from Slay, which could really help their defense take a jump.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers- Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
Ben Roethlisberger has retired and the Steelers don’t have a proven quarterback on the roster. If they want to compete again, they too need to address the quarterback position.
21. New England Patriots- Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama
The Patriots need to get Mac Jones more help at wide receiver if they want him to be successful long-term.
22. Green Bay Packers (via LV)- Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
With Aaron Rodgers staying in Green Bay and Davante Adams leaving, the Packers need to get wide receiver help.
23. Arizona Cardinals- Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
Arizona doesn’t have many needs, but could get a corner to develop across from Byron Murphy.
24. Dallas Cowboys- Tyler Linderbaum, OG/C, Iowa
The Cowboys’ offensive line isn’t what it once was, so they need to improve to help the offense, even after they averaged the most points per game.
25. Buffalo Bills-Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
After Tre White went down with an injury, Buffalo was thin at corner. They also just lost Levi Wallace in free agency.
26. Tennessee Titans- George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue
The Titans have a well-built roster and can take best player available.
27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Zion Johnson, OG/C, Boston College
Ali Marpet has retired, which means the Buccaneers need to find another offensive lineman to fill in.
28. Green Bay Packers- Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
Green Bay needs another inside linebacker to pair with De’Vondre Campbell.
29. Miami Dolphins (via SF)- Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa
The Dolphins have to use whatever draft capital and cap space they need to in order to improve the offensive line.
30. Kansas City Chiefs- Jermaine Johnson, EDGE, Florida State
Kansas City can get another edge rusher to pair with Frank Clark to put pressure on all the good quarterbacks in the division.
31. Cincinnati Bengals- Kenyon Green, OG/C, Texas A&M
The Bengals have made a real effort to upgrade their offensive line this offseason. They can fill a hole at left guard with the selection of Green, who could also play center if necessary.
32. Detroit Lions- David Ojabo, Edge, Michigan
Ojabo suffered an Achilles tear at his pro day, so he may fall out of the first round. The Lions have a longer rebuild going on and can draft him with him even not being ready for the season. Ojabo is still learning the game, but is very athletic.
